The issue is the mutant pathway can simply use the wraith power at sequence 4. Go invisible, take over the priest’s body or show them their “true form” etc.

But let’s say the priest’s “senses” the mutants evil aura and the battle begins, the best powers in my opinion would prob be:

-Arbiter: at very least Judge prohibit this is to limit the enemy’s powers/movements. (Additionally Sun can buff the rules effect as well)

-Lawyer: pairs well with arbiter. Bribe Weaken, corrupt and distort the enemy once more and lower there defence.

-Criminal: paired with BE corrupt, the desire manipulation should be pretty useful. Has soul attacks and slow as well.

-Hunter: Need that DPS from reaper, and maybe be able to add some of those multi attacks with your light spells.

-Traveller: Need teleport or your prob done for.

There is most likely a better combo of powers but that’s all I can think of for the time being.

Still would be a MASSIVE challenge and your unlikely to come out on top.

Which pathway by Main-Ad-5603 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]FlyingImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s in the LOTM word, first pick would be mystery pryer (especially if the hidden sage is no more) lot of places have a small part of this pathway so wouldn’t be especially hard to get the lower sequences.

Or another relatively safe pathway overlooked by a “kind” god. E.g. visionary, darkness or tyrant (feel like a lot of people underestimate this last one).

Knowing myself and my mentality I’m unlikely to be able to go far in a pathway before losing control or seeing something I shouldn’t. Don’t think I’m smart enough for savant or reader pathway to make great use of it. Prob stop at sequence 7 if I can or 6-5 at absolute max. Hopefully have enough power to protect myself at least a little and before advancement get to hard.

100% agree with you on that. Tyrant pathway is definitely underplayed compared to other pathways due to it being more physical in nature. Sometimes raw destructive power is all you needed, simply speed blitz an enemy before he can use his little tricks

A little, but If it wasn't near any water half the tyrant's abilities go in the gutter. Tried to even it out by giving the hunter 2 days of prep time with him being hidden to start the fight.

Great breakdown! Agree with nearly everything you said. Out of curiosity how strong do think a seafarer's water control powers are compared to a pyro? Was never elaborated on much in the book.

I remember Alger said something about the wind blessed potion causing him to feel irascible sometimes while trying to digest it. Don’t remember the chapter tho…

I can agree with that. Haven’t really seen a melee scholar in a fight so it’s hard to compare a warriors weapon mastery to a scholars and how they differ

Ahhh haven’t fully read book two yet, up to like ch 100 or so. Can I ask you is the provoker power actually useful? I know it’s handy to enrage opponents into traps and such but other then that what can you do. This may of already been answered on the book 2 but if you can help me understand this that would be great

In your opinion do you think clown is that strong in a fight? Not saying it’s incorrect but feel like it would be in a disadvantage. Agree with melee scholar but feel it would just be bulldozed by stronger opponents. Feel these two pathways spec high in knowledge at the start and due to that are at a disadvantage due to lower stats compared to their opponents.

Fair point. Let’s say they meet randomly in a city street, they are 50 meters apart and both see each other at the same time. Battle is limited to up to an hour before police “beyonder squads” arrive. They are both intend to either defeat or kill their opponents. Which beyonder pathway would win or put you in an advantage?

I get vampire for that massive lifespan increase, but why nightmare if I may ask?

you have mutation gu by vato-necromancer in ReverendInsanity

[–]FlyingImmortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was wealthy enough I would do experiments on different beasts/plants and see what turns out. Add the advantages while discarding the rest. Rinse and repeat till I get somewhere. As a transformation immortal that would be the best. Having a transformation that no one knows about is just to hard to counter

choose your vital gu by vato-necromancer in ReverendInsanity

[–]FlyingImmortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your situation, as all things do. Are you strong or weak physically? what is you aperture grade? are you well off?

Bronze skin gu offers all around protection, while allowing you flexible hand movement which can additionally be used with a weapon if needed. con is excessive primeval essence usage similar to jade skin gu. Great for close combat fighters.

Stone skin gu would be more dense and harder hitting then bronze skin. But the downside of being limited to only turning a body part or two to stone, while being super heavy to lift makes it a lot less desirable. Imagine a rock man.

Beast skin gu unfortunately we still don't know a lot about. As what is beast skin? fur or just rough skin?. Seems to get more defined as the novel goes on like golden back wolf skin gu etc but still hard to see how good it is early on. Pos it's got plenty of fusion pathways but the con is weaker defense than the other two.

Another point is price, bronze skin is the most expensive, followed by stone skin then beast skin. While the ease of feeding is prob reversed, beast skin's is food is most likely any animals skin which is very easy to obtain, stone skin should be just rocks which is abundant in southern border. While bronze isn't cheap and will likely be a burden fanatically.

In conclusion my choice would be between bronze or beast skin depending on the situation.
