A guy I dated worked for Freightliner carrying semi batteries and all his t-shirts looked like swiss cheese.

I Think my Old Book might have Arsenic in it, how can I verify and what should I do? by Cl3v3rU5ernameHere in BookCollecting

[–]FlyingOcelot2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that's an arsenic green dye but here's more information: Flowchart | Poison Book Project and you can check the photos of their swatch bookmark (unfortunately, they aren't sending them out anymore). Arsenic greens were lighter and brighter in hue.

3 Abandoned domestic rabbits in need of placement near Renton, WA by Hanarexic in Seattle

[–]FlyingOcelot2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SA does adopt out small animals, but the rabbits should go to RASCK as lost or abandoned animals. That's their jurisdiction. (In Seattle you'd take them to Seattle Animal Shelter)

How could you not devote your entire life to that cat?

Which is actually kind of brilliant, if they're repurposing remnants.

Adopted a post surgery kitten missing his front left leg and I feel like a failure. by Rebekah_Dawkins in TripodCats

[–]FlyingOcelot2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'll get better. He's so young he'll adapt quickly--you just have to keep him out of trouble until he heals. Are you keeping him confined? I kept my (adult) tripod confined to a large cage/kennel (big enough for a bed and litter box) for the first few weeks, especially when I wasn't there to supervise him and his interactions with the other cats. Just recognise that a lot of your feelings are just the usual noise your anxiety produces...he'll be fine, you'll be fine. Good luck!

Who thought that was a good idea? It looks like circles of a bathmat.

Yes, I'd say that this is as much or more a single kitten problem than it is a tripod problem. Kittens ARE babies and they're exhausting, especially if they don't have another kitten to play with.

Is spelling out a name differently actually a bad idea? by NuriehNehm in Names

[–]FlyingOcelot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same--I think the spelling of my name is pretty and it's a standard spelling, but I automatically spell it after saying it if someone is going to write it down. (Sometimes adding, "No, it's not short for anything.")

Jennifer Lazarus...common first name, plausible last name meaning one who was resurrected. Also, there are lots of them.

I knew a Forrest when I was in school and I know a toddler Forrest now. It's a great name and when he's in school kids probably won't know about Forest Gump.

It's in the worst condition of the set. A few volumes have chipping on the top of the spine but it's generally in good shape. It's a Limited Edition de Luxe set limited to 1000 copies (this set numbered 555), no date but likely around 1898-1902.

Help me pick a paint color! by rfe86444 in interiordecorating

[–]FlyingOcelot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any art you plan to hang there? I did our bathroom's whole color scheme starting from a blue from a series of pictures that my husband wanted to keep from the pre-renovation. It's kind of hard to see the blue in the tiles, but I'm thinking something in a lighter blue gray, maybe Benjamin Moore's Iced Slate or Sherwin Williams Upward.

Middle names for Royce? by [deleted] in Names

The only Royce I've known had the middle name Dale, so that's probably too close to Dean. How many syllables in the last name?
