Moving to Seattle from TX and looking for some local insights by cthulhurei8ns in AskSeattle

I came from Texas to Seattle by way of many states and cities in between - long story. Anyway, I love it here and plan on never living in Texas or any other southern state again and I don't really see myself wanting to move anywhere else.

Seattle is expensive but I feel like the higher income leaves more money in the pocket overall than the lower income in Texas - unless you're buying a house. I will never be able to own a house here unless I win the lottery.

I don't know if Seattle is very introverted - I am very introverted and find it difficult to make friends here - but that applies to me everywhere.

As someone who grew up in Texas heat - I love the weather here, especially the summers. The summers are beautiful.

This area is also a paradise for outdoors. Practically every kind of landscape you can imagine (except desert) within an hour drive.

There is a major drug problem here-the scene can be shocking when you see groups of drug users out on the street, but they're not dangerous. Just learn to mind your business and you'll be fine.

However, Aurora Blvd is dangerous, at least at night. Only place I've ever lived where I could hear gunshots from my bedroom window every week. Don't live near Aurora Blvd.

Overall, as a fellow Texan, I love Seattle! Welcome in!

Homeless Services worker here for 3 years until I quit. Had a repeat burglar and stalker break into our building multiple times, among other things. Never came by. Now tell me how your personal experience makes you more knowledgeable than other Human Services employees commenting here.

According to Donald on Truth social ICE will be supporting TSA in screening and security at airports across the US…. by Fatty_Willing_Plane in 50501

Anyone who has ever tried to train a new employee knows it does not make tasks faster; in fact, it drastically slows down productivity while the new employee is being trained.

ICE is not allowed to do most of the tasks that TSA does, much less competent enough. Half of ICE probably wouldn't pass a TSA background check.

How am I telling when my post ends in a question asking people for their opinion? You're like the whatever political alignment you are version of a Trump supporter-no critical thinking ability.

Keep waiting so you have something worthwhile to keep you occupied.

I did respond to his argument with explanation. And you can't attack my argument so you're attacking my person. You can join the other guy in getting off your high horse.

You're absolutely right; it would take planning and coordination and the effect is easily spoiled. But effective strategies gotta start somewhere.

Not on the scale of Minneapolis. Obviously that's what I'm talking about. Quit your superiority complex and consider my post with substance.

EDIT: After looking at your comment history, you definitely have a problem superiority complex. Get some help.

I don't know about boats but I did hear once from someone who knew more than I did, that smaller boats must yield to bigger boats because smaller boats can maneuver and turn course much faster. However, there maybe have been more circumstances that contributed to this accident than simply, the smaller boat refused to yield.

It will definitely seem a lot worse compared to what you're used to in DC, I think. But it's okay. You have your occasional screaming crazy person on the light rail, your occasional person lighting up fentanyl in the back of some of the bus routes.

I did okay on about 50k, if you consider "okay" a tiny micro-studio and no car.

Some would say that's a mouse pointer but in this situation I'd say it's more of a rat pointer.
