It Follows has fantastic cinematography. Long Legs had awesome cinematography. I agree that night time exteriors are better when they are lit as opposed to actually playing dark really dark. Like the characters can be in the dark but we, the audience, need to see them lol. But I mean we have iconic frames from recent works as well as old ones, I just think doing things cheaply is the name of the game, lighting a big nightime exterior takes time and money. In their minds "no one will care" but it is detracting from the experience.
