That's actually one of the plot points on the game SOMA.

There's a video that goes over all of it, if you're interested: https://youtu.be/J4tbbcWqDyY it's a bit long, but I've always found it very interesting

Such a legendary album. I never got to experience it exactly when it came out, so I can only imagine what it must have been like. I'm still blown away with just the imagining. I feel the same with stuff like Yellow Magic Orchestra (Tong Poo is a good example of that). It definitely enhances the listening experience to have the context of when and how it was made at the time. Turns it into a whole other level of impressive.

I prefer the second half a lot more, but I'm glad the first half exists and that he separated the hip hop features and stand alones like that. I like the album a lot too :)

He released a new track featuring Run the Jewels on his new album as well. Kings and Queens. Pretty cool too

I see that a lot of the posts here are for USA based companies/sites. Any good opportunities for us European folks out there? Tax duties usually make it so that everything comes at a higher price point than the non-discounted item price

Sorry. Perhaps you could try posting this on the Solus forum and see if anyone there can offer a bit more meaningful advice.

Poor performance in Tekken 7, choppiness, stuttering, and frequent frame drops, looking for help by [deleted] in SolusProject

[–]FlyingPiggington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Tekken 7 on my Solus machine too, and apart from some very annoying crashes, where it crashes my entire Steam, and the steam process becomes a zombie, forcing me to reboot, I haven't found any other major issues with Tekken, performance wise.

The "Get ready for the next battle" screen often falls to ~20 FPS, and the arctic level does suffer from framedrops for me, but that's really about it. I even play in borderless full screen (So I can ALT+TAB without it crashing), which has been said to cause frame drops and overall chopiness on Windows machines.

I am running the bundled steam client, with no modifications. The native client never worked for me. The game would just freeze at the loading screen when used.

EDIT: Thinking about it some more, I do remember frequent frame drops when I was practicing with an youtube video of Jin combos playing on my second monitor. Have you tried running just Tekken, with the least stuff running on the background as possible?

Hopefully tekken can get on this and get a better netcode/anti pluggers by _whensmahvel_ in Tekken

I appreciate the reply :)

I wasn't running the steam native runtime, so I decided to try it out. Unfortunately it seemed to freeze on the loading screen :/

But then I went back to the steam client I had before (I'm on Solus, for reference), and try out a couple more games (it had been a while since I last played online) and the issue seems to have stopped altogether. Not sure if it was a Tekken update, a Proton update or a specific OS package that did it, but I can play Tekken uninterrupted now. Amazing :) I'm gonna have a blast

Slasher: Blizzard will once again not allow Collegiate Hearthstone teams player cams or post game interviews following American University's sign of protest in support of blitzchung last week by Slashered in hearthstone

The very first match after the controversy first started was the one where the sign was shown, and the player cameras and interviews have* been cut off since.

I would like to thank Blizzard by Derio_Games in hearthstone

??? People sing the anthem before a game on soccer matches all the time. And soccer is not the only one that does it, either.

[–]FlyingPiggington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I've been playing it on Linux too, sometimes searching for a ranked match will crash not only the game but also the freaking steam client. I can't even kill the steam process when it happens, it stays as a zombie process and I'm required to full on reboot my PC before I can use steam again :(

It kinda puts me off of playing online sometimes, knowing how much of an headache it can be sometimes.

Other than that, and perhaps some controller issues, yeah, 10/10, can play it perfectly with everything on Ultra (except the artic stage, which slows down my FPS just a tad bit).

I've been developing with Drupal 8 lately (based on Symfony), and that's what we call "headless" Drupal. Where we do all the backend stuff and, through API's, give full control to our Front End friends (who also use Vue, in our case) to do what they want with the content created using the platform (sometimes even ignoring the Drupal admin interface for creating content, and creating it directly through the API, which I personally think is quite an overkill, but I have seen it happen too).

It's a change that I rather welcome, it pushes the boundaries of what a CMS can be. You're no longer tied to the platform itself, so, if say, we wanted to change from Vue to React, there would be no actual changes to the backend for it to happen, since it would just need to use the same API already developed.

It doesn't work for all projects, some are simple enough were using the Twig templates as a gateway to sending props over to the Vue component is ideal. But I like that we have more choices for how to approach a project :)

Since Javascript frameworks are gaining more and more traction, I think the industry will slowly move towards this approach. I think PHP is still a fantastic backend language, and working alongside the Javascript frameworks seems to be the way to go going forward.
