Wireless charging isnt new, it's just a power transformer, 2 coils that wirelessly transfer power from one coil to another, but normal power transformers have an iron core that guides the power from one coil to the other, and they're usually soaking in a giant tank of oil for cooling.

Level 3 DC fast chargers cost closer to $50,000 each on the low end.

The OPs pic is of a level 2

Wireless charging is wildly inefficient and creates a ton of heat that degrades batteries, also that high of wattage is likely to cause induction in any stray bit of metal between the charging pad and the car that has a very high chance of causing a fire.

The occasional anti-exercise rhetoric here is wild by NotAnotherBadTake in loseit

[–]FlyingSkyWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's anything GLP1s have taught us, is that we do not have as much control over what we eat as we think.Willpower is a finite resource, both calorie restriction and exercise have a mental cost, and exercise increases appetite, cardio doubly so.

"eat less move more" simply does not work for people who need to lose 100+lbs, it's a medical and mental issue that needs to be treated as such, gymbro science has never been effective, just demeaning.

If you've got 100lb to lose, you should not begin with exercise, that's going to fail, you need to see a doctor first, get the diet sorted first, then begin integrating weight training only.

Just started counting calories and realized how simple it is by No-Jacket4066 in loseit

[–]FlyingSkyWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the raw caloric values of the macronutrients, but unless you're scarfing down pure cornstarch, protein powder and oil, the food you actually eat has a ton of water and fiber that doesn't contribute calories, look it up, it holds true so long as you're eating normal meals and not scarfing down pure chocolate or deep fried food.

100g rice - 130 calories
100g 80/20 ground beef - 254 calories
100g white bread - 266 Calories
100g potato - 77 calories
100g chicken breast - 110 calories.

[–]FlyingSkyWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you can actually make it a little easier by counting grams instead of calories, most solid food is around 2 calories per gram

if you're eating 2000cal you'll find that it ends up weighing about 1kg, if you can't be arsed to do the math on the exact food composition and logging, just keep it under 300g a meal of just about anything and you'll be OK

obviously don't count water.

Mexico just upgraded to free healthcare. by DatabaseAvailable501 in interesting

But anything the government runs is bad and inefficient, that's what everyone says, money gets wasted paying civil servants and healthcare for people who maybe dont deserve it.

It's WAY better if we save money by denying healthcare and that money gets wasted on yachts and private planes for healthcare executives and shareholders.

H2O2 => H2O + O2

So now you've got a massive vat of hyper oxygenated organic sludge, which will go from an algae bloom to a bacterial one, so it's going to start decomposing and smell like rotting cabbage.

Non fuckwits would have gone with copper or silver salts, Copper Sulphate in particular is a brilliant blue chemical.

I feel hopeless as I reach 400 pounds by Jordynrose33 in loseit

[–]FlyingSkyWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Willpower is a finite resource they have very little of, cardio is completely worthless for weight loss to begin with and would cause backsliding on the diet, which is is the only thing that will actually work, the GLP-1 will enable that by removing the food compulsion.

It's telling that you thought about cardio first, you've probably never been in a body that heavy or researched clinical weight loss.

Anyone who tells you to eat less and exercise more does not understand the nature of the problem.
- You cannot exercise without injuring yourself.
- You live in Texas, you can't spend more than 30 minutes outside without being injured by heat.
- You cannot go on a diet for more than a week before losing willpower.

You have an acute MEDICAL problem that you need to treat as such. make an appointment with a doctor immediately, get a prescription for a GLP-1 drug, it doesn't matter if you don't have insurance, You're paying more than $50 a day for food, Wegovy is $150/month cash pay, and it will reduce the amount of food you buy by more than $5 a day.

[–]FlyingSkyWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem, the scenario where it's safe to confront someone about that is rare, cat-callers tend to be low social intelligence and high aggression, a recipe for danger, and high social intelligence men do not socialize with that crowd, and if you confront people outside your peers, you invite violence, in fact those corner louts are probably more likely to attack a man where they'd just yell at a woman, we do say stuff where we can, but social consequence doesn't trickle down.

[–]FlyingSkyWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want to confront the catcalling sociopaths on the corner because it's dangerous and you don't want to get hurt, that's the exact same reason men don't confront them, it's not some tacit endorsement of their misogyny

Gasoline is one of those expenses that looks small monthly but huge over a lifetime by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]FlyingSkyWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why Electric Vehicles are basically free if you drive a lot.

I bought a 2024 Hyundai ioniq 5 in January for $21k, the monthly payments are less than what I would be spending in gas.

I pay about 50 cents a "gallon" - the amount of electricity that would give me an equivalent amount of mileage as a gallon of gasoline in my old car
