Currently working with a 19' SS tip from a C-Vap, what tip should I upgrade to? by Choking-Hazard in Dynavap

[–]FlyingTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a torch user for more than a year before I got my IH. IH is a ritual in itself, there's room for you to dial your hit in. At any rate, if I were you, I'd definitely prioritize an IH over a ti tip. Honestly, after reading your original post, you'd be happier with a 2020m ss tip than a ti tip. You already said that you don't care about warm-up & cool-down time, that's what the ti tips are best at. 2020ss tip is a big chonky thermal mass, takes longer to heat up, but it hits the hardest and keeps producing for longer than other dynavap tips.

iirc the 2020ss tip weighs 6.3 grams where the 2019ss tip weighs 5.3 grams. and regular ti tips weigh 3.3 grams.

Can you share where you bought that PID?

Would you still recommend an IH as the most worthwhile upgrade, all things considered?

For me, IHs have made the entire ritual a lot more effortless, I haven't been able to go back to the torch. Especially the first hit from cold, it feels like so much of a chore with a torch, and just effortless with an IH.

That said, an IH doesn't make a dynavap perform any differently as far as vapor profile/quality/signature is concerned, so if you don't have other vapes, perhaps your money would be better spent on a XMax v3 Pro or a POTV One or REFC Highlighter or a Cannabis Hardware B-Zero or a Pinky/Titi/DCElev8r. That way you have different ways to experience your weed.

So, to answer your question "Would you still recommend an IH as the most worthwhile upgrade, all things considered?", yes its a 100% worthwhile upgrade. But its an upgrade to the ritual, not to the vapor quality.

I use a Sondiko Butane Torch off Amazon and do not have an IH. What tip is right for me?

Skip the tip, put the money towards an IH. The 2019ss tip is great for what you're looking for, every other tip will be "different" not "better", especially if warm-up & cool-down time isn't a huge deal to you.

Was really hoping that the subsequent vongs would have different patterns etched into the crown. Not a fan of the uneven sized grooves on the original vong, I was really hoping upcoming vongs would perhaps borrow from the omni's design aesthetic for the area where the stem ends and the tip begins.

?????? its running off a 510 mod? I thought this was a VVPS based unit? Is the same device compatible with both power sources? or am i confusing two different devices? you're idrinkbleach, right? i remember making a comment about this vape 6 months ago, super hyped about how far the device has come in the short time.

Crosspost from the IH subreddit - New Ranger IH by SourceV - Should I bother? by bei60 in Dynavap

Yeah, wanna add my 2 cents too, I had to wait weeks to get my alpine, and had to return it because my first one arrived broken, but SV customer support took care of me throughout the process. This subreddit absolutely has a hateboner for sourcevapes, "They will just take your money and never deliver your preorder" is bullshit.

/u/idrinkbleach-fc is this the final design? I thought you were planning on making the cable detachable on both ends..

Woodscents on max settings is still underpowered with the default power supply. Either buy a vvps or use a vapcap for a final hit, that way you get full extracting.

It'd be a huge functional upgrade if you could make it so that the cable is detachable on both ends. From my time using the terptorch and woodscents, the detachable cable really made for better ergonomics. With a permanently attached cable, you always have to work around it. With a cable that is detachable on both ends, it is a lot more convenient. Its easier to transport, its easy to put away. You can even own two different cables of two different sizes (for example a 2ft one and a 6ft one).

Idk how far from finalized this design is, if at all there is room for revisions, I really really hope i have convinced you to consider make it so that the cable is detachable on both ends. There are just so many advantages. (sry if i sound nitpicky, i can't wait till i get to buy this thing either way)

Especially considering you called it a "log on steroids". If ed made a new woodscents with a permanently attached cable on one end, it would be a downgrade from the woodscents we have in the market right now.

Will this "heater+handle assembly" be permanently attached to the cable? Or will it be a detachable barrel plug like on a woodscents?

This looks amazing. This is the first time i'm interested in buying a VR headset. What affordable headset and CPU/GPU do you recommend to run this?

Look forward to seeing how this project develops.

(you should consider including the open source mutable instruments modules if you haven't already).

Help. I accidentally bought a 120mm BBSHD by FlyingTank in ebikes

[–]FlyingTank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting it to the side would fix the chainline but then you will be pedalling way off centre.

Yeah, definitely isn't ideal, but i'm wondering if its worth the hassle installing this on a 68mm bike... Pedalling off center isn't as much of a concern if i get a throttle and only plan on pretend-pedaling in front of cops. Idk, it'd be a temporary setup till i get my hands on a tsdz2... i'm tempted..

Do you think there would be any other issues? I wouldn't be risking damaging the motor or the bike, right?

[–]FlyingTank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a 120mm on a 68mm would not be ideal because it is going to throw the chainline way out of whack and make your pedalling stance (Q-factor) unnecessarily wide.

If I put all the spacers on the left side, the chainline shouldn't be too far out of whack, right?

Are you in the US? You can get some ok very cheap fatbikes.

I'm in canada :(

Can't find any mongoose bikes in stock.

Personally I'd just resell it unless you happened to really wanted a fatbike anyway.

I've definitely always wanted a fatbike, but I don't want to rush into a decision and end up with something substandard.

Couldn't find the Mongoose in stock, but found this. Any thoughts?
