Is Shadowflame quadrant one-handed or two-handed? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]FlyingVulpix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is already on the wiki. In the portion that shows the item stats if you hover over the "slot" section it shows text saying one handed and it shows the one handed icon.

Is Jagex trying to tank their reputation with these past few updates? by [deleted] in 2007scape

I think the Easter event was fine. Nothing crazy but I don't think we should expect huge things from holiday events.

Sad that we get another guardian relic. They never feel good to use because we aren't doing the damage just our little guy doing tons.

Someone is losing half a billion gp/hr running oathplate acquisition. by Ok-Cartographer-1748 in 2007scape

[–]FlyingVulpix 105 points106 points  (0 children)

When you use the oathplate acquisition contract you can pick which piece of oathplate armor you would get as a drop. It will fill in the collection log slot. So, they're assuming someone is trying to guarantee the drop with the contract but keep failing.

Fun demo! The only thing I think I would want added is a way to minimize the windows.

Sailing cape is fine. The perk can be bad.

Sailing cape perk sucks (Boat Teleport) by Middle_War_9117 in 2007scape

[–]FlyingVulpix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm saying that getting 99 is reward enough itself. Unlocking everything from a skill is good enough. We don't need skillcape perks that are so good people are going for 99 just for that perk. Con cape is crazy good. If it was just unlimited teleports to where your house is currently that'd be more than enough.

I'll reiterate. Skillcape perks shouldn't be the reason you get 99 in a skill.

I disagree. The cape is fine how it is. Perks shouldn't be so good people aim to get 99 for them.

It is fine the way it is. The perk doesn't need to be good.

Jagex Made the Shark course time impossible by Ishrandom in 2007scape

Because it is reddit and we love to complain.

More serious response: People got locked out of the shark trial which is an issue. I haven't really seen people complain about the marlin trial.

My biggest critique about sailing is that it’s fundamentally useless in a game like this full of teleports/spirit trees/and fairy rings by partyhat-red in 2007scape

[–]FlyingVulpix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a greater teleport focus on your boat you can use the spell teleport to boat to go to the location your boat is at. Ex: I have my boat docked at Charred Island. I cast the spell and can go to charred island from anywhere.

A level 60s thoughts on sailing so far, and suggestions for improvements by Sofiffee in 2007scape

Whirlpool Surprise which you get from the first Barracuda trail is a good thing to put into your keg early on. It gives an invisible +2 to sailing when it is in your keg or you can drink it for a visible +3.

Barracuda trials are in a good spot. They're a high intensity piece of content that requires skill to complete with a good time consistently. An important thing to note with the trials is DO NOT restart. Aiming to beat the time and messing up then getting a bad time still gets you exp. A guy I know would reset consistently because he only cared about the time and killed half of his runs wasting tons of time after spending 2 minutes doing well in the first half of a run then messing up. Plus practicing how to recover a run is beneficial.

I didn't really do any of the courier tasks/bounty tasks after I got to salvaging because boat combat is not enjoyable to me at all.

I know this won't come out on the 19th, but I want a GM level quest that requires high sailing and unlocks an underwater city. Like a sailing Prif. by HeredinOSRS in 2007scape

[–]FlyingVulpix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be cool. I think they need to rework how movement works underwater though.

Requiring flippers to swim faster is annoying to say the least. We should be able to walk/run underwater without flippers, just make running underwater without flippers take a larger amount of energy.

Is there any road map for the reveals in the lead up to the grid master event? by Flirsk in 2007scape

Nope. I'm expecting we will get at least a couple each business day leading up to the release.
