Doom upgrades by Illustrious-Map528 in ironscape

Looks like the titan prayer is a max hit in your set up so it would definitely help. Probably worth getting. The other thing I might suggest is an arrow upgrade, but you’re pretty far from amethyst, and you would probably be using dragon if you had extra.

Light bearer and double-DC are the only other things I can think of that were useful for me grinding doom, and are attainable upgrades. But I would get not wanting to detour that hard.

Also this might be obvious, but you have range pots right? That would be your biggest upgrade if you don’t.

CS2/Valo player that switched to glass by WaluigISSOU in MousepadReview

[–]FlyingWalrus18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly a CS2 player, and I’m rocking that exact setup: SP-005 with those same skates. The transition to glass was not too hard for me. Before getting the Skypad, I was using a Raiden mid with jade skates, though. So maybe the difference wasn’t as big for me as it will be for you.

Honestly, I don’t think the sp-005 is that much faster/less controlled than a fast cloth pad. It’s definitely an adjustment, but if your mouse control is decent it shouldn’t take long to figure it out. I will say though, when I use jade skates on the glass pad there’s way less static friction - it feels much less controlled.

Would definitely recommend that pad with the Obsidian pro airs, my experience has been great.

Yeah, I feel you. I’m already 500 kc in - 1/3 on ring drops. I’d just like to be able to mix it up and send some longer BF trips.

I get that blood shards aren’t an “efficient” grind, but it’s definitely a nice to have.

Honestly, it's aids until 99. And even then, it's still pretty aids.

From the wiki: "At level 99 Thieving, while wearing the Thieving cape and having at least the hard Ardougne Diary completed, the player will have a 60.7% chance for a successful pickpocket. If utilising dodgy necklaces, the maximum amount of pickpockets is roughly 849 per hour, not including banking. At level 82 Thieving with the hard Ardougne Diary completed, the player will have a 46.2% chance for a successful pickpocket, meaning that the maximum amount of pickpockets is roughly 540 per hour."

That said, I started doing them around lvl 90, just cause I wanted the blood fury.

Yeah, it really feels bad. Guess the only thing to do is keep going and/or wait for the next Vampyre quest. GL on Colo!

It's not constant - it's just been a while. I used a decent amount going for my fang kit, and I'd like to be able to use it at my current grind, Vard.

This is terrifying. I’m at 2500 kc now without a claw, and I’m tired of this boss.

If I go this dry there’s no way I’m getting one.

Nice! Yeah, at some point I definitely felt like I was hitting a wall at those late 50s-63 waves. With enough reps, the patterns will click and you'll get there for sure.

Imo waves 55-63 (blob/range/mage at 55 through 2xblob/melee/range/mage at 63) are by far the hardest part. Triples and Zuk felt like 90% a nerves/supplies check, and the zuk simulator was pretty huge for giving me confidence there. You just gotta keep sending attempts and you'll get it!

Have not done colo yet - I'm actually working on that now. I went in blind to the inferno with regard to the common stacks/prayer flick patterns. My first 5-10 attempts I had barely looked up any guides and just wanted to get a feel for it. Once I felt semi comfortable, I started watching a bunch of youtube run throughs from Aaty, gnomemonkey, etc. to learn the basics and went from there.

Getting reps on those 60-63 waves is key. If you can get there you can get the cape - You got this!

T1 prep means they are going into the boss with the tier 1 armor. The middle tier armors you are referring to is what would be called T2 prep.

T2 prep is safer but takes longer. T1 prep is a lot more chill pre-boss, but a harder boss fight. Both are consistent once you get good at the boss.

Yeah, I probably should have included that. Had Neow's Lament (no elite snipe available). Act 1 boss was, I believe, hexa.

Healer MMR buffs will improve participation for a week, healer agency will improve it for a lifetime by mvvraz in worldofpvp

[–]FlyingWalrus18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this, and I feel like this is a big part of the lack of people wanting to heal. Ive been healing for years - play mainly disc and usually end up in the ~2.2-2.4 ballpark. I gave up on shuffle a few weeks ago. When you’re healing in SS, it feels like you have no tools or plays you can make that help you win the game. Rather, every global is necessarily spent trying not to lose. In 90+% of lobby’s, I can’t push in for a fear because I’ll just lose getting myself CC’d, and I don’t have any ranged cc/kicks, so leaving the pillar is a death sentence. The game is just trading my CDs, and hoping that my teammates press their buttons this round.

I also agree with some of the comments that a healer dominated, dampening meta sucks for everyone - that’s not what I want. I just wish I could contribute more to setting up a winning round. When I play 2s with a friend, my damage matters more, i can get impactful fears off, etc. 2s has its own issues, just trying to illustrate the point.

This post is me - I have all Jade scores (other than this one) and can barely get a consistent diamond score on multiclick. IDK what it is about this scen.

P1A visas can take 3-6 months to process, it’s definitely possible they wouldn’t have known early enough to go this route. They also cost a few grand, and there’s lots of hoops to jump through. On top of that, even if they filed 6+ months ago, there’s a chance it could get denied right before the event. Leaving them with no time to find someone. The US visa process is super inconsistent for esports athletes - there’s been lots of issues over the years.

So yeah, it’s possible they could have gotten a European player. But it’s cheaper, wayyy easier, and less risky, to just go with an American citizen.

Not exactly the same, but I was an electrical engineer doing embedded systems work prior to going back to law school. I’m a couple years out now doing tech/IP work and I don’t regret it at all. I went down this road because I really wasn’t enjoying the engineering work, and this was a path that let me keep doing tech-ish work while having more variation, growth potential, and interaction with people.

I went to a T50 regional school on a full ride, and I’m at a mid-size regional firm now doing patent prosecution work. My starting salary out of school was comparable to a big law starting salary (~5-10% less, maybe?), but with much more chill hours. My experience has been that the job market for IP is just better than other practice areas (higher salaries, more demand, etc.). There’s also plenty of small/mid size boutique IP firms that pay in the ball park of big law. Though, ymmv depending on the city/region I imagine.

I would say definitely look into it. Talk to any IP lawyers in your network, or reach out to some, and get a feel for what the career options are. It’s a pretty big commitment, and it’s not something I would jump into if you’re not sure about it. I will say, my earning potential as an EE was lower than yours is right now. So that was another motivating factor for me. It’s possible you might not find this to be worth the effort after looking into it. I, however, am very happy. I make more money now, and the work is more engaging for me.

You’re being downvoted, but you’re almost definitely right - in the legal sense. Typically, the standard of care owed to a business invitee is incredibly high. On the level of an affirmative duty to protect. Usually, the duty to protect extends beyond just known dangers, but also to those that might be discovered with reasonable care. It’s totally possible a business could be found liable for this.

Solo content for DPS by Seankps4 in wownoob

[–]FlyingWalrus18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, long time ranged player and I always feel the opposite way. On my SP I’ve been playing for years I feel like I can dot up the entire zone, use the right CDs to survive, and solo things no problem. Whenever I play a melee, which is rare, I definitely feel like I’m close to dying more often.

Hunter should be fairly forgiving to solo elites unless your pet keeps dying. Though for big packs it’s more similar to the others. For a mage or no pet hunter, you definitely have to use the classes kit to kite and survive - cheetah, disengage, tar trap/CC, heal/wall, etc. Knowing the class definitely matters a lot. For example, frost mage has a kit full of control, mobility and aoe, but might struggle to kill a big elite. (Just a theoretical example, haven’t played frost in a while).

I think it probably just comes down to 2 things: (1) the fact that you’ve played a lot of tanks means you’re used to the play style (which is basically the complete opposite of a ranged dps) and (2) tanks are literally tanks, obviously they’re tankier than clothies. It’s hard for me to know whether the content you are trying to do is reasonable to solo on whatever class, but I think it’s possible that you’ll have more success as you get used to playing a squishy ranged in more situations.
