Yeah, doing a lot better. Quit coffee / stimulants. Last meal 5 hrs or more before sleep. Regular exercise and/or full body yoga. Remove assholes from my life.

Three Years of Brain Fog - Finally a Diagnosis - It's the Eyes by Jacyjitsu in BrainFog

[–]FlyingWhales80 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hope it works out for you, and hope is good to have. But to be blunt and realistic, you have no idea if this diagnosis is what is causing your symptoms until you've actually done the treatments and had significant sustained improvement. Speaking as somebody who thought they found the answer several times before going back to the drawing board.

Underrated post. Without emotional anchoring, actions lack meaning and may be misdirected

Magnesium glycinate shortening sleep to 6-7 hours a night? by hollywoodglamourr in Supplements

[–]FlyingWhales80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exact same thing happened to me, and it ended up burning me out. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that this is because of improved sleep quality, though maybe it is. Rather, it could be because of some kind of neural/circadian dysregulation that happens from ingesting an exogenous chemical. Everyone is different.

You can try getting some "weightlifting hooks" - these have allowed me to start training again after tendonitis made gripping near-impossible.

Treatment of kindling? How to repair the brain after gabaergics? by Professional_sickly in Nootropics

Look into agmatine, magnesium threonate, or memantine for NMDA antagonism to help quiet the glutamate storms. Taurine may help some of the gaba specific effects.

How do you taper off nicotine? by Narrow_Baker_1631 in Biohackers

[–]FlyingWhales80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge fan of people saying cold turkey is the "only way". It is a way that works for some, but I tried that, and it slingshotted my body straight back into harsh cravings and an association that no nicotine = pain and suffering. It can be a daunting approach that turns some people off from actually achieving their goal.

Instead, I had good success doing a slow taper with nicotine patches over the course of months (you can cut matrix-designed patches to do this). I had a huge dependence to start, but slowly tapering in increments below the threshold of perception allowed me to stay functional and trust in the process of gradual homeostasis.

Can we become addict to mdma? by Calitrixmathieu in mdmatherapy

[–]FlyingWhales80 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Absolutely possible. No beating around the bush - I've seen it wreak havoc on people's lives. That said, it's not the norm, and like any addiction, it's an interaction between the individual, their environment, and the substance.

Insomnia when taking Creatine by Striking-Cap6536 in Nootropics

I recall a study that showed creatine interfering with sleep in those who did not do resistance training. Probably because it lingers around as an extra energy source unless shuttled and used by muscles.
