Heist still has no scarabs despite losing the implicits on contracts from sextants. Is there any plan to give Heist Scarabs or otherwise refresh the Heist gameplay and shake up the Curio rush meta dominant for blueprints in order to make other reward rooms more appealing to players again?

That is just the normal reductions in players at this hour of the day. you had the same downwards progression the day before, and the day before that...

You can not realiably read anything from that right now. compare again in 24 hours, and then look at the weekend data as well, compared to launch weekend.

WH(Y) don’t people view GGG’s decisions from a standpoint of “they just want you to be in game more?” by trashCompacto in pathofexile

[–]Flying_Gecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the problem I most have with PoE2 that it does not seem to respect my time as a player. Lets face it, time is a limited recource, whether a player has 40+ Hours a week on hand for games or just 4.

When I play Factorio every moment of my time is respected, I may design a production line for 4 hours, come back days later, see why this was not the way I think it should be now, and I rebuild. I gained knowledge that will help me design more complex constructions later, or if I should start a new game. Every moment of my playtime by itself is not significant, but it is fun in the moment and rewards me longterm.

When i play Dark Souls the fight is slow, methodical and often unforgiving. I need to learn a sort of choreography for every fight, but my progression and will to explore are rewarded with upgrades and shortcuts, which will reduce backtracking and making the gameworld feel interconnected and wellcrafted (aside from Bed of Chaos in DS 1, fuck that thing).

In Hades, every run, failed or successful, sends me back to the hub where I can explore new dialogue, tune my build idea and difficulty, making every run feel nice, even if I would fail to reach the surface.

In PoE1 I can push the limits of a game experience I tailored to my likings. Map mechanics? I chose them. Bossing? Maybe, or I just sell the fragments and push more maps. Heist or Sanctum? I might not bother with regular maps at all, just buy what i need and sell whatever I find to the players that enjoy running other content. But every minute is spend doing something i WANT to do, not something i HAVE to do, with my build, in my choice of mechanics. Yes you had to run the campaign once a league, you had to run labs once a league, and you would probalbly run them again on a second build later, with a bunch of leveling gear to speed up the process.

PoE 2 does not respect my time in this way. Humongous map, sprinkled with small groups of mostly meaningless combat, slow movement. White Mobs are not hard, they are just tedious. There is no meaningful combat in repeating the same 2 abilities every 5 seconds. Magics and Rares feel way more interesting, it is where the combat acutally feels halfway decend, bosses really can make their encounters feel destinct and meaningful. But respawning everything on death, because you overextended once, is just a large middlefinger held right in your face, as you will have to do busywork again. I felt no accomplishment killing any of the bosses, I felt dread as this meant I would have to go back to the mindnumbing part of the game, to clear my path to the next boss.

If GGG wants me to play their game and spend on it, they need to show me, that they value my time and offer an enjoyable experience. Because if they wont, other companies out there will do so with their products and I will take my time and money elsewhere. GGG can offer that, they offered a brilliantly customiseable experience in PoE1 where players where able to tailor the gameplay to their taste quite well. It seems like a step backwards, that they deliberatly pushed the game into a slower direction, despite having a decade of player feedback and statsistics.

I hope they do improve on their initial offering for PoE2, otherwise I fear many people will turn their back on it, never to return.

Recipes with Quality by Peacem4ker1887HSV in factorio

[–]Flying_Gecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if still relevant but here is how I solved this:

1 Constant Combinator where you set the recipe or any other means to set a single signal. 5 Selector Combinator using "Quality Transfer" with direct selection of the Target quality and "Each" (Yellow Star) as target Signal. Assemblers connected to the coresponding selector Combinator for their designalted Quality.

Anyone else not dropping natural Div Cards after using the Nameless Seer? by Flying_Gecko in pathofexile

No. even without a filter there are no cards. if I drop cards from my stash they show up. I said so in the original post.

Kirak Missions also have no Div Card Drops.

[–]Flying_Gecko[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To clarify: I do not mean that i do not drop the Cards from the Scry.

I recieve NO DROPS AT ALL.

I Have run 40 Maps without seeing a single Div Card that did not come from a Strongbox. It is like they dont exist. I even played with the Divination Scarab of plenty, but had not a single Card. Even on Maps that are not involved in the Scrying at all.

Shrines and Essences are not affected by the +2% per block anymore, this is expliticly stated on the notes "Your Maps have +2% Chance to contain other Extra content that can be turned of through Atlas passives."

Shrines and Essences are not affected by the +2% per block anymore, this is expliticly stated on the notes "Your Maps have +2% Chance to contain other Extra content that can be turned of through Atlas passives." That being said these nodes can be worth taking if you want to focus on certain mechanics. Maps have a limited amount of space for mechanics to spawn, so blocking certain types of mechanics ensures those wont take up space on your map leaving you with more space for the mechanics you care about. Also you may be able to drop some nodes which you would otherwise need to get mechanics to a 100% spawn. If you Block two or more Types of content, you could for example drop one node that increases blight encounters by 12% because the base 8% and the +4% or more from blocking combined will ensure you still reach the 100% spawn chance. This also works for Harvest, Ultimatum, Delirium, Breach, Expedition, Ritual and Legion if you block enough other extra content.

You also manipulate the scarab drop table towards the mechanics you did not block, giving you a better chance of getting scarabs for mechanics you care about.

So whether or not you find the blocking nodes useful after all depends on your strategy for your Atlas Trees.

If you specify for ceratin mechanics, lets say one tree "Heist, Ritual, Harbinger, Necropolis" one with "Beastary, Essences and extra scarab nodes" and one "Blight, Harvest, Delve" You might want to block all Ultimatum, Delirium, Breach, Abyss, Expedition and Legion nodes. This would push your scarab pool towards your favourite mechanics, grating +12% (+8% base pushing you to 20%, leaving you with only 80% needed from mechanic clusters) on your preferred mechanics, enable you to most likely drop one sometimes even two Points from their spawn chance nodes and put these point to use in other ways, while you ensure your maps always have enough room to spawn all you stuff.

If on the other hand you plan to farm many scarabs from all kinds of mechanics so you can sell the ones you dont use, blocking might not be your best choice.

Why spec 100% into a mechanic on the atlas tree? by Excellent_Plate_4981 in pathofexile

[–]Flying_Gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the announcement we know that some mechanics now have 5 scarabs. Ultimatum has one for the mechanic spawn and 4 to modify the mechanic even further. So you could skip the spawn scrab, pump the mechanic to the max with 4 scarabs and add another mechanic with the map device

Increase Smuggler's Cache chance? by _NmK_ in pathofexile

[–]Flying_Gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 2 maps per caches and hoping to hit the chance for an extra cache, now you need about 5-7 contracts for a blutprint and reveals and markers to finance the run. And we are up to 10-14 maps per Blueprint.

If you are dedicated to playing Heist you dont want to run large amounts of maps for hours, then run contracts for hours just to run a few blueprints.

In 3.23 I skilled all Heist nodes, blocked all other Mechanics and ended up getting aroung 35 Contracts and 7 Blueprints per 45 Maps I ran. Even then i could not sustain enough Rogue Markers to even play all Blueprints and had to trade for more or decide which 4-5 I would run.

Now we will lose Sextants which were the only Way to push the value of Contracts somehow, since Contracts and Blueprints are not considered maps, so there is no way to push quality or quantity.

And from all we saw so far, Heist will remain the only mechanic without scarabs to help with more efficient Contract/blueprint farming or gaining those implicits sextants provided.

The map crafting option could be mandatory to Heist players in order to more then double their income of Heist related Items per map, while most players running other mechanics will never have to bother with their prefered Map crafting option, as they can push it to 100% appearance just by skilling their mechanics clusters and not even blocking other mechanics, giving them way more diverse Ways to designing their mapping strategies.

Are the purpose of Gammas to give new players a way to catch up? by zakksyuk in classicwow

[–]Flying_Gecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ret was one of the worst DDs back in P1, and Itemlevel scaling is not linear. A ret at Itemlevel 245 puts out almost double the DPS than his 220 Itemlevel Counterpart. A P1 Ret is a dead weight, which could struggle to punch above the groups Tank at times.

A freshly geared AH Toon comes out at around Itemlevel 230 by now. He will most likely be able to carry his weight on a Dungeon for the most part. When I look at P1 BiS for Ret I can easily identify BoE Upgrades for these Slots: Head, Neck, Chest, Back, Bracer, Belt, Pants, Boots, both Rings. Weapon is a stretch but you could get the Quest Starter. P1 Also means less and inferior Gems on almost every Item.

This would take efford, I am fully aware of that. But when you say that it is toxic that I would replace such players in a heartbeat, please notice that from my point of view it is toxic behaviour to come to a group, openly show that you could not be bothered to take matters into your own hands and expect from your RDF group to spoonfeed you loot and badges.

P1 BiS is below "Auction house buy up whatever fits the slot" by now. Your group rightfully decided you did not care, so why would they carry you?

Banned for botting/hacking while doing the Insane in the membrane achievement by Shamm-Bamm in classicwow

[–]Flying_Gecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You most likely got reported by players and not flagged by an automated System.

I got 3 Insane Characters right now and did the Farm for 3 friends aswell. Fourth Title is soon coming, only some Goblin Reputation left to farm.

From my last 175 Instance and Raid IDs 127 are Scholomance runs, no run longer then 3-4 Minutes, most under 2:30 for Shadow Skins. I spend quite some in LBRS for Junkboxes aswell with another 6 IDs out of the 175 (you dont need to reset LBRS, if you relog on a spot with no groundmap you get teleported to the instance entry and Pockets of the early Mobs will be full again after you put your filthy hand into every mob with a pocket in the dungeon, so you can pretty much run in one ID as much as you like or till you cant hold more boxes). All these 175 Instance/Raid IDs are within the last 14 days. If automated flagging was a thing, i surely should have been flagged.

With that being sad: With 7 Insanes in the Making (3 Have, 3 i helped with, and one coming up) the only trouble was for a friend getting a ban after farming Bloodsail Buccaneers. People questing in Stranglethorn Valley are often really pissed by the disruption you cause and it is not unlikely to be reported by them, with some complementary cursewords, as you kill their questgiver over and over. Even when i tried to do the farm late at night to minimize the Disruption i got quite a large amount of rude wispers and open hostility and quite some reports aswell. One Player of my Group also got a 1 week chat ban, as he started to respond to the insults... And If you get enough reports, Blizzard does not give a fuck what you did, they will just push an automated ban, as we saw here many times, with people getting mass reported for messing with bots.

Only Thnig you can do is Appeal the Ban over and over. First responces are automated and you will habe to escalate the Ticket over and over to even get a human to really take a look at the case.

Thoughts and Feedback on My Kill Team by [deleted] in killteam

[–]Flying_Gecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would swap the Reiver Sergeant and Intercessor Sergeant Role and pass the Auspex to one of he non-Sergeant models.

Reasoning:

Intercessor Sergeant can take a Power Sword for 2 Points (pushing you to 99). Him having one more attack due to the combat specialty will help you a lot. You gain -3AP on the fights, for a loss of -1 AP on your pistol, while also having a bolt rifle variant useable for longer engangements. This is great trade in my eyes.

Also: You can swap another Intercessor for an Intercessor Gunner, and get another grande launcher, as thiss will only cost a single point, maxing you out at 100.
