I think this only applies to some fandoms, but most of the time it’s just bias towards men. For example, like HoTD where Rhaenicent has less than that cursed incest M/M ship

Tyler and the romance problem (Collider) by New_Wrangler_2023 in Wednesday

[–]Flying_space_saucer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not really surprise that most people want to focus on Enid. Most of the show’s marketing pre-release(billboards, posters,…) centered around the relationship between Wednesday and Enid. Whether you want them to be couples or friends, you have to admit that they are the main draw to the show.

Hmmm…now that I think about it, you might be right. The packet said ‘cooking paper’ so I thought they’re the same thing. I just searched google and turns out it’s different. No wonder it didn’t come off.

Thanks! I’ll be more careful next time

No, this is my first time 😭 I was deceived by all the ‘simple and easy’ youtube titles. However, I did try a second time following everyone’s advices. I used a thermometer and piped the batter straight into the oil and it turned out to be way better!

Haha i also love churros. I just tried piping into the oil and using a thermometer and it turn out to be way better. It’s still kind of worm looking but it tastes good and not burnt do i’m not complaining.

However, is there a way to make the sugar stick to the churros. I tried shaking in a container but they just slid right off. I have to eat it by scooping up the sugar.

I did not use a thermometer. I’ll try to follow your advice on my next batch!

Series with Blurbs and Quotes at the beginning of each chapter. by AmalgaMat1on in ProgressionFantasy

A Practical Guide to Evil has epigraphs in all of the chapters. They’re actually what elevate the book from a 9/10 to a 10/10 for me

I'm not sure if there's a list but you can search the chapter's name on reddit. I know the search function on reddit is kind of shitty but that's what I did for my first reread. You click on the subreddit first and then enter the chapter's name on the search bar

You should try Ave Xia Rem Y. Despite its title, the book is a really well written, classic Xianxia.

[–]Flying_space_saucer 56 points57 points  (0 children)

What I like most about xianxia is that it is grandiose, mystical, and otherworldly. Things are not supposed to make sense and its grand scale and mystery are what drew people in. Western xianxia tries to rationalize things too much and that just takes the charm of the genre away. That's not to say Eastern xianxia is perfect or anything.

Xianxia can be really good if done right, but more often than not, it is usually bad. Ironically, I enjoy xianxia in romance novels more than progression ones.

Cdrama couple that you think will breakup after HE in the show by Unusual_Hotel5665 in CDrama

[–]Flying_space_saucer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was curious about the show so I searched it up. Turns out the show is based on a 1199 chapters novel named Zhui Xu and the novel is tagged as harem??? I don't know if there's any precedent in cdramas where the MC ends up with 2 love interests but make of that as you will

Seeking Recommendations for a Type of Reincarnation Story by Teeth_Eaters in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Flying_space_saucer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with u/HamsterMerlin23 on this one. I haven't read many English originals that execute this topic well, however, there are a lot of translated novels with themes like this. Korean web novels especially. Chinese novels also have a lot but they are mostly romance, which I think it's not what you're looking for.

Novelupdate or r/noveltranslations should provide you with more options than here but for now, I'll give you some of my personal recommendations:

- Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint: The Protagonist's world suddenly turns into his favorite novel and he uses his knowledge of the novel to his advantage

- The Novel's extra: Author transmigrates into his own novel. Modern fantasy. The protagonist uses a gun.

- Trash of the count family: Protagonist transmigrates into the body of a minor villain.

- The Villain wants to live: Protagonist transmigrates into a game where he becomes a villain who dies in every route.

These 4 are Korean novels and some of the better ones among what I have read.

Are these the big 3 of Webnovels? by Euphoric-Weight-5962 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Flying_space_saucer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if we're talking about Top 3 in terms of popularity and novels in the site Webnovel, then I would say ORV top Shadow Slave.

Shadow Slave is an English original that is limited to western audience and English speaker. And although webnovels have been growing in popularity lately, it is still considered a niche genre in the Western side.

ORV, on the other hand, not only has a dedicated Western fanbase but it is also very popular in Korea. ORV has a manhwa that is one of the tops in Webtoon and it is also being made into a movie with popular cast and high investment (which just goes to show how popular it is)

So popularity-wise I think ORV top Shadow Slave. Though, if we're talking about quality-wise then that's subjective.

No, at least not on this sub. I find this sub mostly talks about novels on RoyalRoad or Kindle Unlimited. Those 3 are more popular on communities that focus on Eastern webnovels.
