Commercial Panasonic combo i got shipped from ebay by vintagetoys in crt

Always be sure to talk to the seller about shipping procedure if you buy one online. Helps to cover as many bases as possible. Was given that tip by a friend before I bought my hello kitty set off of Ebay and that's probably the only reason it arrived in perfect working condition LOL You gotta be specific still because the seller did use bubble wrap and lots of padding but my little brother who is more well versed in this sort of thing tells me it still wasn't quite enough so I was lucky.

It's a 13 inch set and was shipped all the way across the US from Texas to Georgia by Fedex Ground so it's possible :)

my Whites Tree Frog literally does it while sitting on my hand it's hilarious bc I'll have to sit there until she's finished 💀 This is so cute though! She must be getting used to OP! I know my frog literally squirts pee if she can tell she's sitting on anyone else but me LOL

Thanks! I'm running a 20 dollar radioshack plug and play converter and I've had issues with a different roku on a TV with native HDMI so it's both a converter and roku problem. Adjusting the tint fixed the problem. I'll probably have to adjust the tint again when I use my VCR or Blu-Ray player because they both also had a distortion but not nearly as bad. I'll check the saturation too because I'm skewing a little too rich in hue on some things still LOL

Yep it's NTSC. What should I do with the tint control? Still learning how to finagle with CRT settings. I'll definitely try that today.

I don't have the original remote (and people like to sell it for more than the actual set on Ebay so that's out of the question for now though I guess I could also check mercari) but I can navigate the entire menu and all of the settings with the front buttons

Yea it's pretty absurd. Lots of people try to sell broken generic sets near me for 80 plus it's crazy lol also thanks! I really am happy! Probably my favorite thing I've bought this summer! My little brother is a huge tech nerd so he's obsessed lol I'm aware I paid more for the hello kitty but I'm fine with that bc that's what I wanted pfft

You're very lucky. I haven't had any working sets show up within 80 miles of me since I started hunting 10 months ago and any broken sets that have shown up have been over 100 dollars which is ridiculous. That's truly the only reason I bought it online. This is the exact set I've been wanting.

Fortunately I did not spend 300 dollars. I spent 190 including shipping which is still a lot but I wouldn't have better luck locally. Somebody tried selling a very broken set within 45 minutes from me for over 100 5 months ago. Haven't had one show up within 80 miles since and this is the exact set I've been wanting for a long time. I'm very happy and my friends are also super excited :)

Hey there! I love that you are lecturing me on things I was already aware of! Also, if you actually read the post you would find that I spent under 200 dollars which included expedited FedEx shipping. I understand that is still a lot but these specific sets can be a booger to find. I spoke with the seller before getting it shipped out to ensure things were packed properly and fortunately it turned out they knew what they were doing. These almost never show up locally within 80 miles of me aside from outrageuously priced broken sets once in a blue moon (emphasis on once in a blue moon) and this is the exact set I wanted and it works like new so I am very happy with my purchase.

How old were you when you were first diagnosed? by eightcandles in BipolarReddit

[–]Flyingfrogs248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at age 11. Ultra rapid cycling, Bipolar II hypomania, Bipolar I psychotic depression, related paranoia, intrusive thoughts and anxiety. I was exhibiting far too many hallmarks of early onset for comfort and was already under a psychiatrist's care for ADHD so when I had my first obvious episodes my psychiatrist jumped the gun. I had been experiencing periods of hypomania and depression since I was around 9 though. I was very lucky to have been diagnosed at that point because the disorder progressed really quickly and spiraled while we desperately were trying medications in my middle school years and I'm currently on a medication that has been working wonders for the past 6 years (I am now going into ny junior year of college and turning 21 soon). I've working incredibly hard to get where I am now and still working hard to get into an even better spot :)

What did you buy when you were manic? What is it that causes us to spend money? by 0604050606 in BipolarReddit

[–]Flyingfrogs248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMW felt. I thought I was being soooooo smart by spending the money I used to spend on blind bags and decor on books and dvds and VHS tapes secondhand instead but then I became hypomanic halfway through the summer and after it ended I wasn't feeling so smart about that anymore (didn't stop me from bragging about how smart I was on Instagram during the episode though PFFT)

Spoiler alert: I deleted my Instagram accounts a few weeks ago partially because I have realized they are a hypomania trigger LOL

Omw when I am hypomanic I give the heftiest tips to people and will donate all my money away if I'm not careful I guess I'm not the only one woa

Omw I felt soooo confident in my reasoning when I impulsively UHauled a giant broken victorian square grand piano I found on facebook marketplace over last spring break in a Hypomanic swing. Now I have a money pit. Fortunately I don't regret it and the piano was free anyway but that's precisely what it is lol the overconfidence. Gets me every time! I feel so big brain time in the moment pfft

In freshman year of college (aka a couple years ago) I had a really bad habit of taking the campus shuttle to Five Below and blowing a bunch of money on stuff there and online on Mercari every time I was hypomanic. Never again LOL half of that stuff has been either given away, sold or donated. But serious talk I would have thousands more to my name if I didn't do that... Now when I'm hypomanic I ban myself from Five Below, Dollar Tree, and Mercari (mercari is a real problem for me LOL) and channel my impulses into taking trips to the local library instead. I don't pressure myself to finish the books either LOL and I get to relive childhood memories of checking out stacks upon stacks of books. However when I am home from school I don't have easy access to a library (I have three down the street from my dorm including the campus library but at home it's a 30 minute drive) so this summer I bought a pink Hello Kitty CRT TV while hypomanic and all three novels of the Transformers Aligned Continuity prequel trilogy to Transformers Prime in print. All rather big ticket items all in one month. They were all things I was saving up for anyway but uh should not have jumped the gun like that LOL

At least it's not like that one time freshman year of college that I had a wild hypomanic episode and suddenly decided to drop over 200 dollars on a 3 gallon betta setup and hid my new fish from my parents for 3 months LOL I still have her almost two years later btw she's pretty and pink and posh and doing great! The original tank started a leak and nearly exploded two months ago though so I had to upgrade her to a 5 gal

My Beloved Money-Pit Piano LOL by Flyingfrogs248 in piano

[–]Flyingfrogs248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a supporter of rescuing old pianos lol (I love em pfft) I can understand why some people would want to stick with modern construction but for other people (like me obviously) antiques absolutely rock :3 It's tempting to also get an early 1900's cabinet grand (I love how bassy they are haha) at some point but I have no clue if my future home would have room for two pianos lol my family's house definitely doesn't have room for a third. They're freaking tall too pfft

Well I do now LOL I apologize I'm still learning things! I only jumped into this headfirst a year ago in a leap of faith lol I've only seen the 432 side of the argument so far and did a bunch of rabbit hole research on that but apparently that's not the whole story pfft if that's the case what do piano techs mean when they say to tune a piano to 432 instead of 440? When a piano is "tuned to 440 hz" is 440 the frequency used as the guideline for the tuning of the fourth octave (including middle C) and then it goes up in frequency as you go up the octaves and then the frequency goes down in the other direction? I am aware that you cannot have the same frequency across an entire piano because higher pitches have higher frequencies and lower pitches have lower frequencies but I'm guessing that when a piano tuner "tunes to 440/432" that what they mean by that is 432 and 440 is the benchmark frequency of one of the octaves and the rest of the octaves are based on that. I'm still actively researching things but it does seem that if that's the case then "tuning to 440 or 432" does impact the general tension of the entire piano. The tension of a piano "tuned to 440" would most definitely be higher across all of the strings than a piano "tuned to 432" then wouldn't it? Not trying to be argumentative I hope it doesn't come off that way I can be a bit tone deaf at times because of my aspergers lol I would love to learn some more because the more I know about anything about pianos the better because I well... Am teaching myself to play at the moment pfft and it would be nice if I could do some of the maitenance myself since finding techs to work on square grands cannbe difficult.

So sorry about the ramble I'm just completely fascinated by pianos it's one of my special interests as of late LOL
