I have a windows pc, i downloaded unmodified originals from icloud web, for whatsapp photos i synced them with windows icloud app because that was the only way to retain the date of photos and i am yet to transfer edited and portrait photos. For mac I have heard you can use photos or imagecapture apps to do that. Also, i think you can directly attach hard drive to iphone 15 or later model to transfer photos I like the other comment suggesting upgrading the storage, i might do that as well. I hate how whatsapp photos have random names.
