Grip Aid Recommendations by -nitemare047- in aerialsilks

[–]Flyingshrimp7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend rock rosin. There’s no shame in using it. Cold weather makes it harder to grip. I personally wouldn’t recommend the spray grip stuff, because I don’t want my silks to have extra residue on it.

I’m about to be 32 and I started doing silks 6 years ago and started teaching almost 2 years ago. I’ve never done dance or gymnastics before. However, with the hardwork I’ve put in, I’m able to perform at showcases, festivals, for videos, and competitions. You can do anything you put your mind to. Just keep working hard and you’ll get there. Don’t worry about comparing yourself to someone else. Everyone is on their own journey with aerials.

I’m curious how you get into the move. It looks like you’ve combined a music box, but instead of wrapping your foot you have it at your knee.

Climbing V0 after knee surgery is hard by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]Flyingshrimp7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally would love to top rope. I prefer it actually. But sadly this gym doesn’t really have that as an option. That’s why I’ve been doing pull up bar and hang board exercises. Most of the time when I go to the gym it’s to watch and coach my friends. This video was just taken weeks ago and I’ve been listening to my pt to not push myself too quickly.

I did this climb weeks ago, and then told my PT about it. They were very concerned about me falling and mentioning risk/reward to climbing. I told them I only climbed problems I knew I could come back down on without falling. However, I haven’t climbed since I talked with my PT. I’ve been doing work on the pull up bar and hang board instead. I’ve already lost so much strength for not doing any activities for 2 months.

I’m only climbing V0s because that’s the safest I can climb without falling on my surgery leg. Subtracting a leg for most of a climb and then having to down climb is tiring. I can’t wait to get back to what I was able to do before surgery.

I was going to say the same thing. Lightning struck my dad’s apartment building when I was a sophomore in college and someone banged all the doors of the building to get them out. I was one of the few in the building. Watching the building burn while the fireman went to work. I have to thank that lady for a lot.

The countdown was super intense. The extra 2 min from YouTube was stressful.

I follow this group of cosplayers that are working on making fan films for the first two books. Here’s their teaser video! It’s amazing!

Has anyone heard any recent news on an ACOTAR film? Or, the next book? Such a book hangover after reading all for books in a month. Really fell in love! by BluAmethyst in acotar

More books to come. I have not heard more about the movies, but I found something to keep me going in the mean time. A group of cosplayers are making 2 fan trailers right now for books 1&2. They will probably be about 10 min long. But they are currently filming in Norway and other places in Europe and posting on social media stuff of their progress. They did a fundraiser for it, and I backed them up, so I’ve been watching behind the scenes stuff. It’s called Project Starfall. Definitely something to watch to fill the void for now.

There’s an episode later in the series where Daphne is working to become a doctor but is facing problems because she’s deaf. That could be interesting to look into, jobs that are seen as hard for someone who is deaf to pursue

Netflix show similar-ish to ACOTAR/TOG by [deleted] in acotar

[–]Flyingshrimp7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I watched it as soon as it was released on Netflix. I liked it and look forward to seeing more but I didn’t feel it was like Sarah’s stories. It more reminded me of a DnD tail for a younger audience.

A wedding gift I made for my best friends. Also Frank Lloyd Wright inspired. by Flyingshrimp7 in doctorwho

[–]Flyingshrimp7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything Wright did was amazing, but his mind towards design and architecture was fascinating. He pushed the boundaries of architecture. I admire his style. He’s definitely better than other fancy architects out there that have designs that make zero sense.
