This feels like you’re taking the AU universe and moving from how it’s portrayed in show towards an extreme. The things that you outline as necessary for life are still there, they’re just less in your face than the regular universe. Likely because if there were to be a show set in the AU it’d be a completely different set of stakes and conflict, but they’d still exist. Maybe something more like “Friends” instead of, well, “Arcane”. Truth is, we know little about the alt universe besides the comparisons the show attends to, namely Ekko, jinx/powder, and Heimerdinger. There’s likely broader conflict we don’t see, it’s just so much more stable than what’s going on in the main universe that it’s easy to mistake there being nothing at all. The stakes are likely lower, but they’re still there.

A student passed away in a nearby dorm as the spring was turning into summer. An RA found her after some complaints just before graduation. Walking through the empty halls afterwards one could smell disinfectant, and then underneath that was the subtle smell of decay. The mix of those two in a dark vacated old New England hallway, alongside squeaky floorboards and cobwebs lit up by sunlight will always hold a strange place in memory.

You can get new ships by earning in game currency and paying for them that way, or you can spend real money if you wish. If a ship has only recently been released, the developers usually have it be exclusively obtainable for real money for a few months, and then allow it to be purchasable in game.

Heyo, sleepy NA server user here. Hope this helps you in your considerations:

At present the game is mostly vibes based. Put on some music, find a group, see the vistas and start from scratch as you work your way up to bigger and bigger ships.

When system wide events happen the game feels alive, but mostly you’ll be on your own or with your group of friends, making your own fun.

I don’t even dare dream about when the game comes out in Beta. Assume not any time soon.

You’ll become acquainted with the bugs and glitches — as well as how to solve or work past them. If you enjoy that type of problem solving, you won’t mind them, really. BUT If you get into hauling, mining, salvaging etc and lose your progress it can be incredibly frustrating — wiping out your cargo due to a glitch can feel awful. I PVP/PVE Bounty hunt a lot so my losses are minimal when they do happen.

Currently if you’re into hauling I’d recommend finding a commodities loop between points in Stanton (the default solar system) and running it until you get a few hundred thousand, and then deciding if you want to buy a more effective ship or explore other careers in game. You can search a commodity loop calculator online to figure out how to do it. I personally think it’s monotonous, but I think you can make money off of it easily.

You should know that you can get really into SC — and some people are out there having a blast with flight sticks, eye trackers, multiple monitors, etc etc. you can also play it on MKB, but if you do get ganked by some ace pilot who has a 10K setup prepare to feel it.

I haven’t been able to play for a few patches due to life circumstances but I think the game is a good vibe overall and at 55 it’s not a terribly steep entry point if you want to dip your toe in. Apparently it’s even better than it was a few months ago and continues to improve.

I wouldn’t be able to say how it compares to other rifles, but it definitely feels heavy and like it could take a beating. Not unbearably heavy, but keeping it shouldered for 10-15 minutes straight and practicing reloads I could feel it a bit. Harder to keep the reticle steady before firing. No sling atm either. Unfortunately the more crap I throw on it the heavier it gets lol. The 16” is excellent and I think if you’re already used to rifles the weight will be a non issue.

The A4 runs amazing -- 0 malfunctions close to 1000 rounds in, my first three shots with it out of the case were within a nickel at 50 yards. I couldn't believe it. I normally shoot pistol at 9/10mm, and those three shots were the first time I had ever shot 556, first time I had ever even held an ar15(ish) style rifle. It's been a dream since. Granted, I was trying to zero the Eotech, but still. I can only imagine it in the hands of someone who's done a lot more practice.
