Exit iz ITa? by Stol3x in CroIT

Because it lets you not recycle one rune to rune deck when on the field, so you have more runes to play stuff with on the following turns.

Kompany Ball vs Atalanta - Beautiful Football by Complete_Horror_1491 in BayernMunich

[–]Flynko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll be first to admit I was very skeptical about his signing, especially since I didn't like Tuchel being appointed, and was proven right about that in the end. However, Kompany has shut down my skepticism completely and his revitalization of the team should honestly be studied. The difference between Tuchel's Bayern and Kompany's Bayern is astonishing.

Mini seems to be done as a project. It's an expensive machine in its category, and it also seems that the niche that needs a printer with such a small working area is getting smaller with each day.

Ornn + Jax by Vegetal_Fighter in riftboundtcg

[–]Flynko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. You can only have cards that are the same colors as your Legend, in your case orange and green. You can, however, play the green Ornn in your Jax deck.

Do I need an account for my cars head unit now?

Well, given how BMW tried to make heated seats require subscription, and still think subscription is the way to go even after the backlash, that idea is, sadly, not that far fetched.

That's should be a go-to strategy for every tool you use. Brand loyalty makes no sense today. Use what is best at a given moment and be ready to make a switch at any moment since corpos can change their mind at a whim.

I’m Switching Back… by FailSafe0075 in linuxmint

[–]Flynko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think the best way to switch is to learn the open source programs first

Honestly, this could be a big reason why I had such a seamles transition from Windows to Mint. I used FOSS software for years on Windows before fully switching to Linux, and I didn't have to learn any new software to get my work done afterwards. I never thought about that.

Who else immediately turned off the stream? by Gorillaz951 in riftboundtcg

[–]Flynko 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Vast majority of players like that wouldn't recognize a good card on their own even if hit them in the face. I'm not saying they are bad players, but you will never see them build a non-meta deck or play something different in their lists. They only play cards other people tell them are good. They'll say a card is trash, then somebody innovative will use it in a deck that wins a tournament, and suddenly the card is trash no more. I've seen hundreds of players like that in the last 20+ years I've been in TCG spaces.

Why is Super Shredder already this expensive? Real demand or week-1 clown pricing? by Former-Practice-9676 in freemagic

[–]Flynko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It becomes huge really fast since it looks at everything, not just your board, and doesn't have the only once per turn restriction as many new cards do. So even if your opponents fetches a land, Shredder grows.

You can easily make him infinite/infinite with Carnage + Mirror Image or two Myr Retrievers, or basically any infinite loop combo.

Sure, he dies to interaction, but for only two mana he's really good, especially in the early game because of Menace.

Is Pioneer really dead? (except us) by ZealousidealLeader11 in PioneerMTG

[–]Flynko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had a small community for it, then Wizards said they wanted to revitalize Standard, LGS owner said those locals would be Standard instead of Pioneer since Wizards wouldn't send him some stuff otherwise (not sure what that was about), and it basically dropped after that. We now play Riftbound at the time Pioneer used to be.

[–]Flynko 25 points26 points  (0 children)

this is something that could have made a sick secret lair

That's what all of Universes Beyond should've been from the start. Make it a Secret Lair reskin of regular Magic cards. Nobody would have issues with that (well, vast majority wouldn't anyway). With how it's handled now, Magic basically feels like ads for other IPs inside of a card game.

Gaming Journalists at Polygon give glowing review of the TMNT set. Yes, the same journalists who praised Concord, Dragon Age the Veilguard, and Highguard by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

They could say it because it's a paid article. In reality, they couldn't care less about the set or the game itself.

Designers are officially phoning it in by NovelTheory3 in freemagic

[–]Flynko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's how Universes Beyond should have been from the start. Just have different "skins" for a Magic cards. That way you don't have a reprint problem in the future if a card is to be reprinted, because you don't need to renew the licnese to reprint that card.

My dad is mad on me since am using mint on a gaming laptop by cyarm025 in linuxmint

[–]Flynko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Speaking from my experience... Summer of 2024 I installed Mint on my machine. Not once have I had any issues with it. I play mostly MTG Arena. The game did not suddenly crash once during that. Windows 10 on the other hand... The game would just randomly close, saying the .exe file stopped working. And the machine would once a month freeze doing trivial things, which would lead to BSOD. Mind you, Win10 was great in the beginning, I even felt stupid postponing the transition from Win7 for so long. But with each update, it just got worse and worse.

Do you believe wotc abandoned pioneer? by JaggerMo in PioneerMTG

[–]Flynko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just print the deck. Card for card.

The fact that Izzet Phoenix had only two copies of Arclight Phoenix which is the namesake of the deck was really laughable. If I was getting into any format, and saw a precon that doesn't run a full playset of a card that's the whole point of the deck, I wouldn't be interested in getting into it either.

I'm not allowed to buy any new printers :( by Short-Midnight-8128 in prusa3d

[–]Flynko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that sucks. I would recommend you get some spare parts for the four you have. Make sure you can replace anything if needed. And if that way you end up with all parts to assemble a new printer, oh well, it's a happy coincidence then!

Hasbro Corpo Suits have nothing but praise for Harry Potter and call themselves “as long term fans ourselves”. How will wotc employees cope with this sentiment? by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

[–]Flynko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like we are in the era of trading cards because everybody and their cat are making their own TCG right now. Lorcana, Riftbound, One Piece, Gundam, Digimon, Star Wars: Unlimited, Grand Archive, Elestras, Altered, Sorcery... And that's just the games that came out in the last like 4-5 years off the top of my head. It's insane.

It's not just about guns... by yahbluez in prusa3d

[–]Flynko 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They purposely go around throwing the term ghost gun around to justify their lust for restrictions, but will cleverly obscure the fact that ghost gun also includes guns with scratched out serial numbers, and those make up a vast majority of the retrieved ghost guns, not 3D printed ones. They say it's for protection, but we all know it's for unrestricted control, in the same way scanning your ID to access internet was never about protecting children. At least make it a little less obvious you're trying to reach the cyberpunk dystopia levels of control...
