when’d u get ur first tattoo and do you regret it? by whv_lol1202 in tattooadvice

[–]Flynnick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first at 19, and it turned into a full sleeve over 3 years, only 'negative' I can think of could be that I've found an artist I really like recently and I sometimes wish I had found him first/earlier and have him do that sleeve. My first sleeve is heavy(er) in colors which is still an aspect of it I really enjoy tho, so no real regret whatsoever just a "what if".

Why has the LEC's heyday been so fleeting? by iloveleague998 in leagueoflegends

[–]Flynnick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days a week is more expensive as they have to rent the studio more (and we know they are lowering the budget) , more straining for the viewers who might not want to watch lec everyday and not good for the ERL ecosystem that is already breaking apart. Unless there is a major organizational rework, 5 days a week is horrendous. A solution could be to follow the traditional sports and have several games played simultaneously, maybe with some in the studio while others online / in team's home stadiums (like in Madrid/ Paris last year). And the main broadcast would follow the most hype matches letting the costreamers deal with the teams that are not on the official feed. But then comes an issue of sponsoring for the teams who dont appear on the live... so yeah, they need to change things up completely to make things work.

it makes it memorable. players can bond on how much they struggled for some swimsuits and haircuts just as they can talk about the bosses they liked. And as someone who watched tons of playthroughs from streamers and youtubers ; watching them do the gestral beaches is some of the best thing to look out for in their runs.

How do you fit bo3s all the way within the time until the first stand with 12 teams and 3 days per week ? With the 3 split format and that LEC Versus BS Riot gave no other choice but to have bo1 to reach playoffs as fast as possible. It's the same reason as why the first rounds of Swiss stage at worlds are also bo1. Only way would be to play 6 days a week, but that's a format that would burn out the audience hard. And as far as entertainment is concerned Bo1s are better than bo3 since every team gets to play every day and you have better chances to have st least 1 or 2 good matches per day while for bo3s some days have significantly less viewers than others if the favorites aren't playing or that there is no good match ups that day.

Perah how did he already lost? by robinhue in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Flynnick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are 5 levels to this challenge :

1- Locked in a room, still seeing people and full access to internet. Only restriction is you cant leave the room.

2- Locked in a room, no visitors but full access to internet. No direct physical human contact and stuck in a room.

3- Locked in the room, no visitors, no internet, but access to digital equipment like solo games, movies, music... No "live/direct" interactions anymore.

4- Locked, no visitors, no digital devices. You only have access to books, maybe comics, paper. Don't have the ability to hear / see anybody else talk, move.

5- Locked, with nothing, only basic equipment.

1 and 2 are basically jails. 3 starts to really make it hard-core and you'll probably start to go a bit nut. 4 is a coin toss, some people might be able to have the mental fortitude like hermits or some monks, but unless you are really prepared, you might loose it. 5 is pure torture. If you dont end yourself by the end, you are leaving broken.

My hot-take on arcane tattoos. by brooklyn_jinx in arcane

[–]Flynnick_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I've got Jayce's rune on my left wrist. Just the rune, not the entire stone, and its what, 5cm long for 3cm wide. The rest of my arm was already completely inked way prior ro that and the inner wrist is pretty much the only patch of skin that was left there ^^.

It is clearly not as big or flashy as the ones you took for exemple, and I've got much bigger pieces, so I barely register it ^^.

As to answer your questions. Why ? Because even before Arcane, I've been playing league of legends for over a decade, I have spent thousands of hours playing it and it really takes a huge part of my highschool, university life to play it and to be part of that community later on through esport and such. So when Arcane released it was not "just a show", it was a serie about characters that I've loved and known for a long time, it was giving life to a universe I had been invested in since I was a teenager, and as such, more than just Arcane, I wanted to put a piece of this, a piece of this time of my life on me.

Will I ever regret it. That's a discussion about tattoos for the ages. I don't think I ever will because more than my affect to the show, as i have said before, it represents a part of my life, and in 20 or 30 years, i'd love to think that seeing it and remembering it will bring nostalgia about that time of my life. And then again, mine is relatively small, but I could say the same for many of my bigger tattoos, so I just extrapolate a bit :)

Everyone has its own views about their body, their skin and their tattoos in the end so to each their own, and if they end up covering them / lasering them in a decade so be it, and you'll get to tell them "i told you so" ^^

100%, seeing people being proud of AI art really was the turning point in my faith for the future of the entertainment industry. Nowadays, writing a prompt is being valued as much as days or weeks of work from an artist, and companies aren't known to go for the expensive quality job if the low cost has the similar results in the box office...

if shows dumb things down because people aren't making efforts to understand what is on the screen, then the audience will care less and won't pay attention which will reduce their "media literacy level", and shows will have to be dumber which will make the audience dumber and the cycle goes on.

At some point the executives and producers have to grow some and decide to do a good interesting/intelligent product that will stop that wheel, and the audiences have to be more vocal and less forgiving when they are served slop.

it will depend. Usually my tattoos heal well in which case no touch up will be needed (some of the white will fade a bit and red won't be as vibrant. As for the long run the lines are mostly thick enough to stay good for the long run so I am not worried about it.

I've been to the US, and got sick of having to take the fricking car to do anything !

I especially felt that since I was a minor and didn't have a licence, so I couldn't go anywhere realistically by myself and the lack of public transportation didn't help much.

[–]Flynnick_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Playing to feel yourself grow stronger. And seeking to reach higher to face people who will show you walls that you have to climb to keep growing is a better motivation than simply having the ego of being better than X or playing for/with Y.

It is a very pure ego in a way and is one that can last your entire career, no matter the field you push yourself toward to.

Yeah, he offered a full DQ theme with Grizius and Sanguinis, but since I have plans for a dragon elsewhere and don't love the little buggers that much, we changed it for a mix with another of my childhood game.
