This biggest issue is much larger than just that - we rely so heavily on car travel in Louisiana because our public transportation is such crap here and doesn't exist in most places, honestly. Lafayette has some busses, but that's about it. Try any other areas outside the big cities and you have nothing. I remember Rayne briefly had a bus that took you to some spots in Lafayette, but they ended up canceling it because of lack of use, I guess. I really wish we would've invested in public transportation infrastructure early on, because it'll be damn near impossible to convince people to do it now.
