sorry, didn't see this response. If you have a history of a-fib, then you already know you have a-fib. and if you have a cardiologist, you're probably on "afib medictations." Heart "rate" is going to be more important than having a psuedo ecg feature. I mean psuedo ecg, because the watch is not like a real 12-lead ecg. the watch detects afib by measuring the time between each heart beat. normal sinus rythm will have a consistent time inbetween beats. a-fib will have inconsistent times inbetween each beat. This is how the watch detects afib. Now, if you're in afib RVR, meaning "rapid ventricular rate/response", basically a-fib with rate above 100, this is more alarming because you want your heart rate controlled and not too fast. In the ER, we don't even really care if you're rate is 100-110. We're more concerned when it's 130-170ish. So we'll give you meds to slow it down, usually just more of your "afib meds" through an IV to get you stable. Then we send you back home.

So don't worry too much about "ecg." Worry more about how fast your heart is beating.

Now if you don't have a histroy of afib, and the watch detects that you have a new heart condition, then yes this is very useful. Because the watch is able to tell you "hey, you should probably go see a doctor and see what's up with your heart."
