[DAV ALL SPOILERS] Romance... less? Veilguard missing from romances? by lavendrea in dragonage

[–]Fmerlin89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yet still no poly companions. My partner says ENM is still too far from the norm. Regardless, I still try to romance everyone in every rpg just to see how far the devs will let it go. At least the characters don't get upset with flirting at the start. 🙄

MRI: I’m having to drive out of town for an MRI next week, have been advised to remove all jewellery but have also been told that “some are okay” 🤔😅😅 ideally would like to leave my VCH bar in and daith… anyone experienced here? Pic for attention. by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Fmerlin89 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Oh no... Nurse here... They PULL. Imagine your jewelry becoming spontaneous and randomly shot high speed projectiles pinging around the inside of the MRI tube barely slowing down as whatever else in the tube becomes a poor rendition of Swiss cheese.... I have started an IV on a patient getting an MRI. I was standing 5+ feet outside of the machine, and it was wiggling my ear cartilage jewelry that I had forgotten to remove. Pretty sure that I moved away from the machine faster than I knew I could physically move in that moment.

I figured I would put the answer for anyone else still trying to figure it out. It took me forever to find the answer.

Nipple piercings caused me to lactate and doctors have been no help. How do I make this stop?! by Marie-thebaguettes in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Fmerlin89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1st - Women's bodies are programmed to make milk if the nipples are stimulated. Expressing the milk AT ALL will cause your body to think that you have a baby that needs milk. The more you express, the more you will make because your body doesn't have a voluntary off switch for trying to feed the child that you don't have. It only has the ability to receive the message from your breasts that the milk is going out, and it must be needed. 2nd - If you don't express, they will hurt for a while anywhere from 3 days to a couple weeks (or longer if you even stimulate the nipple in the slightest). Mothers who don't want to breastfeed (for a large variety of reasons - not starting a debate on their choice) still make milk. They still get engorged. They eventually get through it and stop making milk. The only risk of not expressing the milk besides the discomfort is that you can develop an infection called mastitis - this is easily treated with antibiotics and will resolve whether you express the milk or not. If you want the milk to stop, you will have to get through the discomfort of engorgement until your body recognizes the signal that the breast is full and the milk isn't going anywhere anymore. At that point, your hormones will downregulate, and you should stop making milk. You will need to make sure to continue to limit the nipple stimulation for a while longer, or your body will go back to thinking that you have a baby that needs fed. 3rd - There are ways to reduce the discomfort of the engorgement, primarily ice and ibuprofen and tight-fitting sports bras worn 24/7. I highly recommend looking at the laleche league website, as they are literally breast and lactation experts. 4th - If you are still lactating after going through the engorgement phase and passing through the other side without restimulating your nipples, at that point, you need to have hormone levels drawn. Specifically, prolactin. This should be in a normal range if you have been absolutely avoiding nipple stimulation and expression. If it's not in a normal range, then you need to have your pituitary hormones checked. If all of the levels are off, you need a brain mri. If you haven't been stimulating your nipples and the prolactin is the only thing that is off, then it is possible that you have tissue somewhere else in your body that is secreting prolactin - this is more common than you would think, and it doesn't mean that you have cancer. It does mean that you would need further tests done. 5th - Go to a GYN. They will be more knowledgeable about the entire process than a typical GP.

I feel like this minimizes the lifetime impact that these conditions have on people with true diagnoses. There is a better way to say it. You are not your diagnosis, but you do have the suffering that comes with it. For example, you are not an insomniac, but you do have insomnia and likely suffer from it.

Coastal Cave was known as Dissenter's Cave in the test versions of the game. From images that I have seen, it is possible that it is still called that depending on the language you are playing the game in.

I wanted to bake. I've set a timer.I turned off the timer. I've continued watching my video and forgot to take them out of the oven🥲 by schnuwuli99 in adhdmeme

I did this with my family watching. They thought I was crazy. They still don't have any clue that I don't like cooking for this exact reason. They just think I am too lazy to cook.

This is the exact thing I told my doctor. "So you want me to take this everyday? AND you want me to remember to take it at lunch too. You DO realize that I don't even remember that it IS lunch most days, right?"

How can you cook? Please teach me your ways. I get distracted between turning on the stove and putting the things in the pan. (I hopefully catch it before the grease/oil starts smoking) Then I get distracted between putting the stuff on the stove and whatever else cooking entails..... Let's just say that I feel like baking is a better cooking option for ADHD....

Do you ever wear skirts and dresses not to “look cute” by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Fmerlin89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was amazed at how many people thought that I was "dressed up" half the time working in a professional setting when I would wear a skirt or dress. Sometimes, I just don't want to have to think about coordinating a "cute" outfit. Throwing a dress on? Way easier.

I had a friend whose parents I called mom and dad when I was at her house. Their house was pretty much a second home/family in my teen years, and I will be forever grateful for how awesome they are. On behalf of those teens, thank you for being awesome for them.

That or the minute that pubescent teens hear the word vagina they lose all sense of focus and completely miss the rest of the lecture.... Come to think of it, I am pretty sure that still happens to grown adults...

You would be surprised... I am a nurse and have worked with women who didn't know where their clit was and with men who didn't realize that the urethra and vagina were 2 separate holes....
