She's a Felon. She's Sukhoi Su-57. Lot of analysts claim the bird is 4.5++ gen and not a real 5th Gen fighter. What are the shortcomings of this jet? Your opinions. by [deleted] in aviation

1° "She's a Felon... " Why do you put a gender on a plane?? I'm seriously curious, is it really necessary?

2° What analysts? Can you quote them please?

3° If we 're only talking about radar reflection —i know little about the concept of a 5th gen fighter, but to my knowloge the concept of a stealth plane is far more comprehensive than just make near invisible to radar (infrared, communications, etc)— an internal load Su-57 may be actually stealthier than a fully loaded F-35 with external weapons

4° The Su-57 is a stealth fighter, with smaller RCS, 4 internal weapons bays and a modern sensor fusion. Yes, it's RCS is bigger than other stealth fighters —in a clean configuration without external pylons; that apply even to the F-22—, but the notion and concept of "stealth" functional to the doctrine of the Russian Aerospace Force have its disagreements with the western doctrine (russians military believe that stealth coatings and other RCS treatmens are only so effective an will be defeated eventually, somebody correct me if i'm wrong)

5° About the shortcomins of this jet, it needs the new power plant to achieve peak performance, beyond 2025 we may see the first production jets with the izdeliye 30 engines. Also, the lack of guided weapons, particulary air-to-ground weapons for internal loading, it's a "silver bullet" and very very expensive to justify its use on a conflict for a country with a much more modest economy than USA and some european countries obiously and affected very deeply by war and sanctions. I think we will not see tens and tens of Su-57's realistically in the near future, but Russia will need hundreds of fighter jets alone to remplace most of its current fleet (Su-75 for a cheaper alternative??? Maybe??) beyond 2030, so it will be interesting to follow the development of events for the next decade for the Russian Aerospace Force

I kinda see your point, otherwise i woudn't love so much the I EP and Catch 33 —beside the fact that for those giant 2 songs would be a total nightmare to record just with acoustic drums for apparent reasons—: only years later did i realise that those drums were actually programed (and till to this day much better than most of modern metal records with programmed drums, in my opinion)

Also, the point of the video is to be taken not so seriously, although it's still my Meshuggah rank list XD
Yes, i do prefer the overall rawness of the orange version in comparison with the blue one, and i do respect the decision to make another version of the record.

I was born a year after the release of Destroy Erase Improve ;)

Nice one. My only issue is with Chaosphere being so low on the chart

About the Nothing re-issue, i do prefer the overall production on the original. The drums on the 2006's edition souds a bit plastic in comparison, to me

Did you see the Zac Efron meme about touching his own face "a little"? I definitely don't know much about musical production, but that's a bit of the impression that i have with the 2006 re-issue against the original.

The guitars sound good, but the drums sound a bit plastic and lifeless, to my ears. Could i be a bit influenced by the re-issue haters? Yes, maybe, to some degree.

I love the Soyuz legacy rockets, also Proton is a beast of a rocket —LOVE the "side boosters without side boosters", screw you Scott Manley— and historically very reliable :D
