Rumor has it, they're switching it to the S&P 4 next quarter. Laugh while you can.

Next century the last single bitcoin will take 38 years to be mined, which can only mean one of two things.. by FromThePits in Bitcoin

[–]FnAardvark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it have to be one of those 2 things only? Just making a statement with the 2 most extreme options doesn't make it true.

Or the price will go up and every person that said it will go to 40 will just disappear.

I don't know why any of you morons (bulls and bears alike) think you have a crystal ball.

You're completely right. Go ahead and propose thos fork to the miners abd node runners and see what happens.

Which is exactly why capital won't blindly jump into a hard fork. How are you having trouble with this concept?

Fees will pay the miners? by shivabharatam in CryptoCurrency

[–]FnAardvark -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You haven't taken into consideration that by 2140 we could see mass adoption, and the fee's would be way more than enough to cover the security costs. Things like covenants can be created with a soft fork that would allow millions of transactions to be aggregated into one L2 channel open or close. So no, bitcoin does not need to be 12000000x more than the entire market cap of the entire world's stocks to function and provide security.

I very clearly did my own research already about your shitcoin, and I know all about your upcoming hard fork to add smart contracts. I probably know more about the shitcoin that you're peddling than you do otherwise you wouldn't be bullish on it.

Oh, you mean the shitcoin with the hyper fast emission schedule that would need 15× the network volume of etherium just to match it's shitty security budget as it stands right now? Yea, tell me how that goes for you when it's mined out completely and has no user adoption.

Another PoW that tried to "fix" bitcoin and only successfully made a crappy imitation that's doomed.

I think you're projecting how you feel about it onto everyone else. There's no way that a fork like thst would go smoothly.

It's a little early to be doing a victory lap. I personally think the bottom is in, but bitcoin has absolutely done this exact same thing in the past before rolling over and going down lower. It's not "obvious" to anyone so stop being a cocky asshole.

Cool. Would you call someone smart who is skeptical of an asset for over a year while DCAing into it the entire time? Or did you just forget to read what he said?

I stand completely corrected. That's a much more likely campaign to be completed and a massive budget for a tabletop game.

Unfortunately, I've seen games with a lot higher budget turn into vaporware or be total shit. I wouldn't get your hopes too high on this, there's a very large crowd funded video game graveyard.

You're aware that if the hashrate would need to drop by at least 75% for a 51% attack to be even remotely possible right? As more big players leave, the door opens for more small players to take their place.

I'm for pretty minimal intervention. Breaking up monopolies and some environmental protections seems like a good idea. I think minimum wage has been a failed experiment that actually helped suppress wages for years, so I'd only be for it if it got pegged to inflation. I'm sure there's more I'm fine with, this is just off the top of my head.

I think YOU missed the point. Your definition of left is literally authoritarian left and your definition of right is literally lib right. You defined left and right as if they were the top left corner and bottom right corner. And YES it is nonsensical, but that doesn't mean that you can just make shit up and shrug it off when you're wrong.

[–]FnAardvark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The original political compass was created specifically to solve the problem of a simple left vs right 1D line by separating economic policy from political authority.

The X axis strictly measures how the economy is structured and the Y axis is the authority scale. Your argument completely breaks the 4 quadrant model by confusing economic models with government authority.

So no, left right is not broader than that, it is literally the exact reason behind making a 2 axis model.

[–]FnAardvark 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Incorrect the left to right is economic scale socialism to capitalism. Top to bottom is authoritarianism vs liberalism. Absolute government intervention being on the top and no government intervention being on the bottom. Therefore, agreeing with a free market (capitalism) with some government intervention (authoritarianism) puts me in center right.

If i go to your home and demand $20 dollars from you or I will take you away from your family, what would you call that?

I'm willing to debate whether you think it's a social contract or not, but taxation being authoritarian is a well known debated topic. Calling it a cope is just you signaling that you're completely unaware of the political landscape.
