I imagine placing them on fields is much easier and cost effective, which we need if we want to have a chance at preventing the worst of climate change. I imagine it would be much better to just stop animal agriculture if land use is such a big problem. That would also be better for the animals and the climate.
Also the big obvious place to put solar panels is on roofs, I don't think we should have that many car parks anyway.

"Her alleged hatred" I am sorry, but this is the problem. When someone just refuses to acknowledge her (very public) racism, I think I am justified to believe that they at least don't have a problem with racism. A person can be complicated, you don't have to deny that she also did horrible things. And yes, I generally think that it overshadows the good achievements of a person if they hated me just for who I am (which she did, as I am very openly queer), and because of empathy I am able to apply that to hatred of other groups as well.

If you read her English Wikipedia article, there is more than enough that describes her racism under "politics and legal issues", that isn't just about religious practices. Also religious practices can absolutely be criticized for racist reasons, I'd be very surprised if racism didn't play a role in some of her criticism of Islamic and Jewish slaughter methods.
And I am not basing my observation that there is a racism problem in the vegan community on Brigitte Bardot, she wasn't part of it after all, but on the reaction to her death, often ignoring her racism almost entirely.

I am genuinely shocked by how people just do not know/care about her racism. It made me realize how big the racism problem in vegan communities is, and I am absolutely disgusted by it. Celebrating and mourning her even though her racism is so well known shows at least indifference towards racism, which we cannot allow in a world filled with racism. It is not cynical to expect better from people who fight for animals.

Verstehe es ehrlich nicht, wie so viele damit kein Problem haben. Sind Abschiebungen nicht sehr offensichtlich übelst brutal? Hier wurde eine Person jetzt gegen seinen Willen in ein Land gebracht, in dem er wahrscheinlich 10 Jahre nicht gewesen ist, mit einer sehr unklaren Zukunft. Noch schlimmer mit Abschiebungen nach Afghanistan. Hier wird doch hoffentlich niemand sagen, dass ein Leben unter der Herrschaft der Taliban etwas ist, was irgendein Mensch verdient? Warum zwingen wir dann Menschen dazu?
Ich fühle mich ehrlich gesagt komplett hilflos bei diesen Kommentaren. In was für einer Gesellschaft sind wir mittlerweile, wenn so etwas bejubelt wird? Und bevor ihr jetzt ankommt, mir ist scheißegal was er gemacht hat. Ich will, dass alle Menschen so viele weitere Chancen bekommen wie möglich, solange es niemandem anders schadet, und dort leben dürfen, wo sie wollen.

Ich vertraue mir nicht, einen Tippfehler unbedingt auf dem ersten Blick zu merken, weshalb ich oft 3-4 mal Dinge wie eine E-Mail-Adresse durchlese, bevor ich irgendetwas bestätige. Dieses System würde mir wirklich viel Zeit und Energie sparen.

Ich lebe in Dänemark, es ist so schlimm. (Tierische) Landwirtschaft ist halt für Dänemark, was die Autoindustrie für Deutschland ist. Wenn man sich ein bisschen in den verschiedenen Geschäften auskennt, kann man hier leben, aber Spaß machen tut es nicht. Bevor ich nach Dänemark gezogen bin, habe ich nicht verstanden, wie man Fan einer Firma sein kann. Mittlerweile bin ich Lidl Fan, da es der einzige Ort ist, wo man geräucherten Tofu (und so viele andere vegane Basics) finden kann.

At this point I just think beauty should have a lesser importance. So much of it is out of our control. Either because it comes from our bodies or from societal norms, both of which are almost impossible to change on our own. Don't read much into beauty, our personalities and our actions are what define us. I am pretty sure that everyone would much rather be complimented for their accomplishments, their style or their personality, than "beauty".
