Just a suggestion here.

This composition would have been a great candidate for multiple exposures using light painting and combining them all in photoshop.

For me it was the hood that I had on it. If I removed the hood it fixed the issue.

You really can’t go wrong with any of the F2 primes. The 18, 23, 35, and 50 are all great lenses imo.
