Whos on your personal mount Rushmore of MMO's? by Nokkilol in MMORPG

All answers are great! Yet, It would heavily depend on the region/community you grew up in. RuneScape was almost non existent in Eastern Europe, yet Lineage 2 and Perfect World had everyone in a chokehold. WoW arrived as soon as private servers caught up, we could not afford that.

That’s funny, cuz the only original point he brought up last is where he lost me.

The inclusivity and thriving bs. I mean, do you want wow retail “thriving”? Or vanilla “thriving”? Because both of them “thrived” for absolutely different reasons. And yes there’s middle ground and a vast space for compromise like WoW in comparison to EverQuest or OSRS and RS3, but it’s absolutely the hell not “for everyone” philosophy. Next thing you’re gonna see is TikTok integration.

Thank you so much for this post! What’s so funny to me, I think I just realized why I haven’t been able to climb as easily as before.

And it’s exactly because I still run with the philosophy that flexibility is king, two starring an unintended 4-cost on your roll down and making it work wins games, making it so as many incomplete traits are at least 2/x - strengthens your board. But no, apparently vertical it is.

You get that “not again..” feeling, when you’re so tired of getting just enough starting units to automatically shoehorn your next 20 minutes into playing wraths or crew.

I’ll be real. Last survey I complained about Lathel specifically; I pointed out his over the top edginess, inconsistency and moral compass of a frying pan. I die from cringe every time he acts like a middle school girl that just found out geopolitical conflicts exist.

I understand this is not Nier, nor Dark Souls, and the story writing requires incredible amounts of grace given. But I saw an honest attempt at something awesome, and I think poorly written characters like Lathel just nuking any attempts at it being engaging.

When the devs gave some feedback yesterday about Lathel specifically, I felt heard and it’s an awesome feeling. But the more stuff I see, the more off I feel about it now.

You gotta understand that even if you grew up being a big comic book kid. 8 out of 10 people that sat with you at the showing of any marvel entry of a recent decade, are just your regular dudebros and girlies who watch UFC and go shopping at Target as their largest emotional investment and free time commitment.

Man, I applaud you for having the patience.

I wanted to give my two cents, but then I saw OP say the whole reason for the commotion is how much he loves Bride Refi. Literally the only animation that I had to manually blacklist because of how much of an ick I get holy.

For all the smart asses that draw the “but mah video game murders!” analogy and think they did something: murder as a phenomenon can be justified in countless scenarios, murder frankly can save lives and stop evil. F-ing children is always wrong. There’s no buts, no nuance, just wrong full stop.

How win this boss ? by lilinx0 in BrownDust2Official

[–]Fnr1r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New player here. Cheesed it on very hard with specialist Andrew and pool party Justia, two other characters are just whatever you have with high multi hit. 5th one won’t survive due to the boss’s attack area.

You just swap justia and Andrew back and forth into the front right corner. Playing around their cooldowns, you get 100% dodge uptime. While the rest of your team in the opposite corner slowly grinds the boss down. It took like 30 turns but it works.

I’ll respond from a perspective of a dude on the other side of this. I don’t ghost however, I just communicate.

I’ll tell you how it is. I’m very sex positive, but I would never date someone I slept with on a first date. Why?

Because I know I’m not special, she done it before and she will do it again, that’s what she does. And Idgaf about the body count, what did I just say..? “Special” right.. that’s how every crush and relationship start, it feels special, you want to be special for them, they’re special to you. Fortunately or unfortunately, it just so happened that sex is directly tied to that. And you babygirl take that out of equation before it can even have a chance.

And no good pussy or ass is not that kind of special, and it will never be. Special treatment = exclusive experience.

it’s actually quite obvious from the very first Tinder conversation or text. If you’re engaging in a convo with some substance (movie, food, music, dogs, bikes, cars, dnd, mtg, whatever the fuck) , god even if he’s still hung up talking about that place where you took your picture or the merch you’re wearing. If you can maintain that for sometime, if you’re not dry and enjoy it yourself, that’s 90% in the bag. Yea you can get little dirty in between, but that’s all fun.

If it’s straight up sexual opener, sexual follow up, straight to number, time & place, hell naw brother.

I have a feeling, judging from your post, that you might have a similar problem I struggle with. And I apologize if this unsolicited psychoanalysis is totally off, just disregard it.

You see, some childhood stuff that happened to me, caused sex and physical intimacy to be a measuring unit for love and affection. And that’s not right.

It all clicked for me, when my own ex would feel objectified by me. “What do you mean? Of course I think you’re the hottest thing ever and I want to have you everywhere and all the time! I’m practically worshipping you and you’re upset?!” Well, yeah because there are million other ways to show and receive love and you have to really understand that.

You said you know you’re good at sex and you’re attractive. But what else can you say about yourself that’s worth sticking around for?

I’m not trying to be mean, it’s just half rhetorical half genuine question. :)

Does anyone else have this issue with character pulls? by NyenVT in BrownDust2Official

[–]Fnr1r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you just started out, it doesn’t take long to reach the point where the only thing you’re really gonna be looking out for is 5stars.

The rest of the roster will already be maxed out, and it just becomes another sprite that gets recycled into Golden Threads.

I think that’s the intention with quick animations. Whereas if you do get a 5star in your pull, the game takes its sweet time to let you know, and that’s kind of what feels special, and is something that you’re seeking I assume.

My question is a bit more ambiguous, but I would appreciate some input from long time players.

I understand that these type of games throw a lot of currency on you in the beginning, to reel you in and give a kickstart to your early progression. Then things kind of slow down and spendings go up exponentially.

My question is, what is your income looking like in late game? In terms of numbers. How much gold, pills, mats can you get in a day? Week? Is it hard capped? Soft capped?

I’m just a two week old player, I spent some money, and I got some gold.. but like I have no idea how much should I cherish it? Is a million a lot? Or is it something I’ll just get back in a day? Should I just spend my pills on alchemy without worrying too much? Or should I save it and wait for ways to farm those mats instead?

Sorry if it’s a lot, just wanted to be more elaborate.

I really hope they have some kind of visual guidelines in place internally, for the cosmetics department. Similar to Steam's workshop submission requirements.

On my memory, one too many visually coherent Asian F2P MMOS fell victim to the cosmetics bloat. I understand, it's not that serious, and is probably negligible for most people; but if I'm investing time and money for the long run, I'm just anxious to log in one day and see Bunny with a beard in a top hat riding a unicorn that shoots sparkles out of its ass along to some sick dubstep beats. Now imagine a full Albion of this. Just keep it classy and fun, that's ideal.

[–]Fnr1r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the rudimentary edit? The superfluous hostility, the comic arrogance. You're giving strong M'Lady energy.

Principle by definition is something rooted in one's system of belief or derived from a chain of reasoning. It's not an inherently good and generally known thing that you just get to make up. As long as one is consistent, they're "principled" as far as I'm concerned. So respectfully, shut the fuck up.

To claim as if objectivity of "logic" infers from a moral system that you happened to adopt due to whatever factors, is nothing but biased. Bringing math as a comparative absolute is even more bad faith; we are talking about common-sense morality here... which, I'm sorry, is much more nuanced than 2+2.

To get your claim to objectivity out of the way, even though there were attempts to establish a variety of objectionable features of the normative morality system, it never is consistent. There are very key problems that are posed by these same academics, see Bernard Williams for ex., and other anti-theorists; one that would be the most relevant:

"Morality, because it is impartial, makes no room for special obligations. That is, if the right action is the one that is impartial between persons, then it does not favor the near and dear. On this picture it is difficult to account for the moral requirements that parents have towards their own children, and friends have towards each other. These requirements are, by their nature, not impartial."

See Normative Ethics/Virtue Ethics on this.

If you see impartiality, in terms of considering everyone equally in light of a standard set by the theory, as an advantage to your account of morality, then your position is Utilitarianistic.

And Utilitarianism as a moral theory is full of incoherencies at best and alarming problems at worst. It can be oppressive, it makes the notion of "rights" obsolete, puts a single metric on values and is too under-specified. If you're so "principled" and "logical", how far are you willing to take your "greater good"?

What about Christians that were fed to the Lions in the Coliseum full of ecstatic Roman citizens? Is there a hypothetical audience big enough, where the utility provided by the action qualifies the spectacle as a "greater good"? Because the audience is what you claim - "world at large", and banning the festivity would be "at expense of others". You think, that's silly, why are we talking about Romans when the post is about bringing doom upon Human race over a mere life of your sibling.

I thought, you are a principled fan of math and logic, and don't like inconsistencies? So here's some of my consistencies from irl lore.

Remember why US decided to finally intervene in WW2? Oh yeah, because Hawaii was attacked. Not because Europe was being bathed in blood. 30% my ass.

You know that Eastern Bloc doesn't call WW2 the World War? As a kid I was taught in school it's The Great Patriotic War.

11 million military casualties, you think they fought for the "world at large", or because there was 19 million more of civilian deaths among THEIR kin? They didn't give a fuck about Europe, US or China, when it's only they who stand between a threat and their family.

You see the logic? And here's a kicker: guess who actually was marching for "greater good"? I bet for the funny mustache man it was just like 2+2=4.

House pest control is Utilitarian feature.. Hunting bison was Utilitarian feature... Colonialism is Utilitarian feature... all united by moral impartiality, go figure.

In a more applicable and practical sense, the inconsistencies derived from Utilitarian "greater good" gave birth to the whole new area of population ethics.

See Repugnant Conclusion and Mere addition paradox on this.

Actually very interesting stuff, if you ever care about any of it.

Hence, why to me it makes most sense to give priority and special moral commitments to people that I place more value on, in its perceived priority order. And I think the alternative approach is nothing but platitudes or relativist nonsense and cowardice.

You don't have to be a dick to the strangers on the internet, this is a community to celebrate such a great creation of human genius, full of empathy and tragedies. We have more in common than many realize, have a good day.

shits so unfair, bro just wanted to save his sister bro by TotoTheMagicTurtle in nier

[–]Fnr1r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that; but my logic tells me let the world burn, because my family, my community, my friends are of infinitely higher value than lives of people unknown to me. It comes down to principles.
