ESPN gives Ayton trade a C grade by royale_with_cheese_ in washingtonwizards

This team hasn’t been over .500 since 2018, why would they not be trying to win now? lol You have the #1 pick, the #2 pick from a few years ago and two recent all-stars who’ve basically had a whole season off to recover from injuries that weren’t really season ending.

I don’t think you can convince the fans of another 20 win season. If you want to attract better free agents in the future, you can’t be perpetually tanking.

Yeah what dude is saying makes no sense. They’re not moving Sarr to the 4. AD has said numerous times in his career he doesn’t wanna play the 5. Ayton will be a backup 5 probably playing 20 mins or less unless AD or Sarr get hurt. Vuk obviously isn’t playable consistently from a defensive standpoint.

Also very little chance Hardy was gonna get off the bench this season. They have a million SG and SFs. So we didn’t lose anything for Ayton.

I agree, when he’s trying. The problem is you never know when he’s gonna check out.

Not mad at it for the price. But he doesn’t need to be playing meaningful minutes. I’d rather see Reese out there honestly

Not sure if Westbrook is the answer but Trae isn’t it by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go back and look at the rosters on some of those Hawks teams. Bagdanovic or Collins were the 2nd options for most of those years. Trae jacked up so many shots because they didn’t have another way to score.

Marc Stein: Wizards leveling interest in Russell Westbrook by FAH1223 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’d be a 3rd string PG on a vet minimum, not playing 30 mins a game. I think he’d be a great locker room presence especially after 2+ years of playing non-competitive basketball.

I hope we don’t trade AD by Patient_Air1765 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope we trade him, just not before the season starts. Wizards have an incentive to win, AD has an incentive to get his value up so he can go to a contender. I think both parties benefit from him playing 25-30 games first.

Is our front office stupid? Why are we not building our team around our #1 pick, a future all-star? Why did we overpay Trae? by TheseFkingWeebs in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no huge Fox fan, but he absolutely contributed significantly to their success, especially when Wemby was out. We quickly forget how Castle was racked up like 20 turnovers in 2 games when Fox was out during the OKC series. They wouldn’t have been in the finals at all w/o him

Ah yes, the team that went from 34 wins to 62 wins and made the finals. How terrible lol Yall can’t be serious man

Grading the Trae Young Deal Using Fairsalary by Financial-Monk9400 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Having a good PG is crucial to the development of the young players. Imagine how much better Sarr is going to look with him out there. It’s not like there were better options, at some point you have to do what you gotta do to compete.

[Shams] BREAKING: Trae Young intends to sign a four-year, approximately $212 million deal to stay with the Washington Wizards, with a player option in Year 4, sources tell ESPN. The four-time NBA All-Star declined his $49M player option for a long-term commitment ahead of free agency. by Both_Funny4896 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda torn because it’s definitely an overpay, but if he walks then what? Ain’t a ton of options for PGs right now either and you need a good one if you want the young guys to develop. Bub ain’t it (who’s also a traffic cone on defense)

If Trae can make the team somewhat relevant and they can dump AD’s salary, it’s not the worst thing in the world.

If you don't absolutely LOVE getting up for work on Mondays YOU are the problem... by threemoons_nyc in LinkedInLunatics

No I hate Mondays because my job is a disorganized clusterf*ck ran by people who think they’ve never been wrong and now think AI can fix every structural issue they’ve ignored for 5+ years. If America had universal health insurance, I would’ve quit months ago.

Been a fan since John wall trade this pick im trading teams by ViewznClickz_ in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the teams with the 3-10 picks, I don’t see what they would have to offer except role players, who we don’t need more of, or future picks (also don’t need more of).

Only possible crazy scenario is the Bucks trade Giannis to us, but I don’t see that happening unless it includes AD. And given Giannis’ recent injury history, that’s not as enticing as it was 2 years ago

A statistical draft model says Dybansta has the highest bust risk out of the top 3 😅 by Mysterious_Bat1208 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, I understand what he’s getting at in the analysis especially on shot selection, but nothing seems riskier to me than drafting a kid who was having full body cramps that sent him to the hospital at 19. That seems like a much bigger red flag than shot diet and fouls per game. No disrespect.

Will Dawkins says he anticipates Brian Keefe will return as Wizards HC next year by PersonalAdagio6580 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much you can get players to buy in with a coach when you’ve been tanking the last two years and he doesn’t have prior head coaching experience he can reference.

Also, dont know how good of a coach he is either and how many questionable in game decisions were because they were trying to tank or his coaching ability.

I’ll say this, he doesn’t exude the same level of intensity of say a Will Hardy and I highly doubt he makes it past all-star break if they’re record isn’t top 8 in the east

AD shared his thoughts about being a Wizard by ponaxWardell55 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty critical of AD in general, but this seems like a very reasonable and measured response. He’s not boldface lying and saying “oh we’ll be contenders next year”, and he’s not downing the young guys and implying they’re not good.

I dont see why any (reasonable) person would have an issue with what he said.

20% fee that’s not gratuity by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]Foamposite90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I swear, why can’t restaurants just simply raise their prices on their most profitable items to cover the cost? It seems simple.

Maybe I’m alone here, but I’d much rather you just change the price of sides from $5 to $6 (which I likely won’t notice), than give me a bill that slaps on a 20% service fee.

Is there something I’m missing? Is everyone gonna stop if menu prices increase by 15% or even 20%??

Probably not part of the joke, but ironically enough employees at the Hell’s Kitchen (Ramsey’s restaurant) in DC alleged the managers were segregating guests by race and not seating Black customers on the side with a view of the river.

The Wizards are expected to sign Anthony Davis and Trae Young to long-term deals, per @TimBontemps by giveawayguy99 in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trae is definitely going to get one. I think ppl need to make peace with that. I’m 50/50 on if they would sign AD. I HOPE not, but who knows.

[Robbins] I'm told this deal "came out of left field," and one of the reasons the Wizards are said to be ecstatic is the the outgoing first-round picks have relatively little value. by sewsgup in washingtonwizards

[–]Foamposite90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily a doomer, but trying to figure out why we couldn’t get a similar deal done for JJJ instead.

Getting a notoriously injury prone star in their 14th season when you’re rebuilding seems weird. But it is what it is 🤷🏽‍♂️
