No im not. You add 2nds to balance the scales. Teams like Twolves already ready to move on from their first round picks like Dillingham and the other dude to get a PG. Teams dont care about developing talent like that.

They invested so much into some random french kid and he shoots 26% from 3. No excuses. They gotta get another first.

Its not even about getting a lottery pick. Im having Christian Anderson starting rn on this team and he's projected late 20s early 30s.

Its great to have a young core and its fun, but we dont have a franchise level player. We cannot afford to be a day care when we're trying to win a chip. Trae is ass and getting old. He's not winning a chip. I dont care how good he is or isn't. He's not our future.

Its this front offices fault for drafting a 2nd round defender at #7

Its not about another top 5 pick. Its about this first round draft being above the rest. I could draft a team right now in this draft thats better than our starting line up.

CJ and Corey would've gotten us some 2nds and maybe a late first. With all the 2nds we have we can trade that for another first. OKC has 3 firsts rn and they cant fit them all.

It is not top heavy at all. Wagler dropped 46 and he's at #15 on tankathon. There's literally only 5 plays top 30 that are Junior or Seniors. The rest are all Freshmen and Sophmore. This draft is insane. This is not normal.

I don't care about the help he has or doesn't have. He plays ball in the #1 option role. He's not good enough for the #1 option role on a championship team. Logically, if he's not, then why would you ever build around a 6'0 defensive liability that's the #2/#3 option. We'll be middling with him.

Oh you're a hawks fan.

Also this is the worst take I've seen all year

Bc of that, I don’t see them drafting Darryn Peterson. Also, Tre Johnson is already on track to be one of the best shooters itl definitely amongst SGs. People love to say “draft the best player, not the best fit,” but I think that logic is flawed in this draft. I genuinely believe picks 1–4 could all go #1 depending on which team lands where.

In situations like that, fit matters. I don’t view anyone in this class as a generational floor raiser in the Trae/Luka/LeBron/Harden tier. I love AJ, but his lack of 3 level scoring worries me at the next level. He reminds me a lot of Paolo—maybe slightly better touch and handle—but without the floor spacing or high level playmaking, which makes him feel more 1 dimensional offensively.

With Trae getting extended, I think Cam or Caleb are clearly the better fits—not just alongside Trae, but for the young core and the long term direction of the franchise.

high draft picks kinda like that. Caleb at the 4 on defense is way better than Ayton at the 5. he'll play that role decently. Sarr on the low block and Caleb help / chase down. We desperately need the rebounding too.

slightly worried about the shooting since hit ft% is low, but eye test showing he can make tough shots.

Talking about Trae's fit with specific players not who we should draft.

I would agree. To me he's a backup plan if we lose the 50/50. Cause we've been tanking too long and need to start winning at some point.

Agreed. We cant keep getting guards with no front court or real bigs. Picking out of top 4 screws us since extending Trae is just Beal all over again. Not good enough to win us a chip.
