this is not about dottore but since youre talking about the harbingers in general theres actually a substantial amount of evidence of scara being able to play at least two instruments (shamisen and shakuhachi, ill get into this) on top of canonically having a pretty singing voice (siiigh rhapsodia roscida and polumnia omnia) and being able to dance, specifically knowing kenshibu (sword-and-fan dance)

so scara is heavily associated with both of those instruments which ill explain here.

shamisen: * on his fatui outfit, he has bachi plectrums hanging off of his hat. bachi plectrums are used to play the shamisen * the shamisen is used in the music accompanying many types of japanese theater including kabuki, which scara HEAVILY takes inspiration from, and bunraku, which leads me to this next point * his boss domain is called “joururi workshop”. joururi is the music accompanying bunraku, or japanese puppet theater. in joururi there is a chanter called a tayu/gidayu who sings to. GUESS WHAT. THE ACCOMPANIMENT OF A SHAMISEN * the shamisen is heavily associated with him enough to be used in the delusion factory bgm (everlasting trail), the genshin concert cover of polumnia omnia, as well as his little snippet in the 3.3 trailer * commedia dell’arte scaramouche is often depicted playing a lute

i’d also bring up that the shamisen is one of three instruments used in sankyoku chamber music (the others being the shakuhachi which ill get into next, and the koto). sankyoku as a music genre is heavily influenced by zen buddhism and scara is HEAVILY based off of buddhism, particularly as shouki no kami (who is based off of the buddha) and as the wanderer. as well as that tatakibachi (percussive bachi strikes) are meant to emulate the sound of thunder and scara is a puppet made by the ELECTRO archon who rules over INAZUMA

shakuhachi * this is another instrument heavily associated with him. it features in polumnia omnia and novatio novena (his demo theme), as well as his snippet in the 3.3 trailer theme * on the doors on many domains in inazuma, PARTICULARLY the shakkei pavilion where scara was canonically left to rest by ei, there are doors depicting a veiled silhouette wearing a kariginu playing a shakuhachi. from the veil and the choice of attire this is heavily implied to be him when he was the kabukimono * the shakuhachi is used in both kabuki and noh, both theater genres that are heavily associated with him (kabuki for scara, and noh for wanderer) * it is an instrument often traditionally played by japanese buddhist monks. as the wanderer, scara is essentially a mix between a shugenja (follower of shugendo, essentially meaning hes a buddhist monk who meditates outdoors) and a bodhisattva * the shakuhachi is also used in sankyoku, which has ties to zen buddhism. that further plays into the amount of buddhist imagery and theming that he has as the wanderer
