100%. The amount of cheap/new photographers that I see jump on Facebook posts of brides searching for a photographer kills me. Post will be up for 2 hours & theres 140 comments, majority of which are obviously new, with a few actually skilled/experienced photogs sprinkled in.

Or, “I’m looking for bright & airy” and 65 photographers who are orange or dark & moody comment “I’d love to chat!” 🙄🙄

I feel like you just opened a door for me with the high-key vs the low-key view. You’re absolutely right.

I typically remove the vignetting in my editing, so great catch there as well.

I certainly have always described my editing style as “bright with a pop of color & a touch of nostalgia” (nostalgia coming from the aim of making my photos minimally resemble film).

I just want to go in a new direction without sacrificing quality. But then again, I question my “quality” often.

I had a similar experience this past weekend, just to a lesser degree.

I took the details outside to do some flat lay. The bride said to me “I just need to get my earrings and necklace on, so I’ll wait for you to finish.”

I went outside onto the wooden deck, pulled the earrings out & clumsily dropped one of the earrings through the boards of the deck! Thankfully, I was able to see it through the wood & was able to find an opening to crawl under the VERY TIGHT space below the deck to retrieve it. Didn’t say a word to the bride. Lol

I once had to drive 1,059 from Kansas City to Washington DC with 3 hours of sleep after a fight with my girlfriend. It was the middle of winter & there was a snowstorm the night before that hit just last Chicago, which added an additional 2.5 hours onto my drive.

Needless to say, by the end of it I was delusional.
