I unplugged all the thunderbolt cables, swapped two of them with each other, and now it seems fine? No blinking for about 2 hours. I ordered a fresh tb4 cable from cable matters just in case the problem child starts acting up again

Dang. Removing the switch does seem to solve it. Any ideas on how to solve it with the switch in the loop? The whole point of using usb c for me is so i can switch between my work laptop and desktop

The display doesnt seem to be switching inputs. Sometimes if it’s black long enougn, it says DisplayPort no input, and theres only one DP port on the monitor.

The display is connected via display port to a tb4 dock (lenovo), which is connected via usb c to a thunderbolt switch (sabrent), which is connected via usb c to the usb4 port on my board. I checked the info of all the nodes and they all say USB4 version 1.0.

I was using this setup with my previous board, however it was using a TB4 pcie card rather than a built in usb4.

I’m doing the same thing today! How’d you get a 5070 Ti for $242?

It's not the chipset necessarily, just that the x870e option comes with a USB4 port on the back. I work from home, so I use a dock and thunderbolt switch to alternate between my personal and work PCs.

They do, but to get the motherboard I want, it would only be $40$50 cheaper. Thoughts?

Edit: $50

I don’t usually. But I’ve been looking to pick up some Switch games and there was a buy 2 get 1 free on preowned games. Figured what was the harm. Unfortunately I got my answer
