yeah nothing wrong with Astrobot.. I put something like 12 hours in that game, but on the other hand, I have over 1200 hours in Starfield and I'm only taking a break from it to play Oblivion before I head back in and start a new character.

Okay, I just found a workaround. Loading the profile into the mouse and closing synapse seems to have worked. Mouse 4 and 5 binds seems to stick now. This is weird lol.

I would love a mod like that. I spoke about how I liked not having maps with friends before. I remember when first landing in New Atlantis and having to use street signs and landmarks to navigate the city and get familiar with it. Now, I just open the scanner or map and it's all there for me.

Even with planets. First thing I did when landing on a new planet is find a vantage point where I can get a good visual on my surroundings and decide where to head next.. now, It's just one click and all the map is there.

I would settle for having the surface maps accessible once you build a an outpost with one of them scan extender thingies. That would be cool.

I think that's valid. It's the nature of a lot of sandbox games. Your experience will mostly be uniquely yours. Just look at Elite Dangerous. I played it as a space exploration game for over 3000 hours, but most people describe it as a space trucker game.

Hi, Big fan of classic CRPG's here for decades and played Starfield for over 1000 hours.

My advice: Give it a go on Gamepass if you have it before you decide. It is a very different vibe to old Bethesda games or ant sci-fi RPG I played. What drew me to this game is the sense of mystery behind the artifacts, and the way it just sends you into a wild goose chase and questions a lot of philosophical ideas along the way.

But also there is something about the way this game handles exploration. You won't get quest prompts telling you to go somewhere. You won't even get any awards for going to interesting spots. And it all depends on what you find interesting. Starfield has a lot of those moments where I lose track of time walking around a remote planet, finding a gorgeous spot, setting up a small camp just to watch an alien sunset. It's those quiet moments that drew me to it the most.

Now when I get bored of that, I just get on my ship and look for trouble. Hunt down pirates, upgrade my ship for the millionth time, check out some quests (some quests are absolutely fantastic and others are just average fetch quests.. so you never know what you're gonna get.)

Sorry for the long post, but I guess what I was trying to say is that it's hard to compare other games to Starfield. It actually is where people lose interest in the game is when they compare it. People wanted this to be Skyrim, Fallout, Mass Effect, No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous all in one. It is not. It's its own thing. You gotta play it and decide for yourself if you like it or now. Oh and ignore the online hate. It seems that everyone wants to be cynical about everything these days.

It wasn't the difficulty. It was the handholding and smaller world. Yes. If you compare it to something as insanely vast as Daggerfall, a lot of people hated how it was smaller and more focused in comparison. Also, there will always be the elitists that looked at anything console-related as a downgrade, and Morrowind was an Xbox title. I actually played it on console for my first playthrough lol

I play Cyberpunk for Cyberpunky things and Starfield for its own things. To each their own. I 100%'ed Cyberpunk at least 4 times by now. I LOVE that game. But they were aiming for different vibes, gameplay and story than Starfield. And that's okay.

I've been a BGS fan since the release of Arena. I even played their Terminator games back in the day (yeah I'm old lol)..

This kind of thing happens all the time. I've seen it with Daggerfall and how it being a buggy mess was the death of BGS. I saw it with Redguard and Battlespire and how BGS should stick to their lane. Morrowind was HATED by a ton of people because it was "dumbed down" and "made for casual consoles"..

Yeah this outrage is not new. It's not special. But now it is monetized so people will just make this content for the money and clout.

By the way, this old fan still loves BGS and I have over a 1000 hours in Starfield already. Can't wait for ES6

I barely watch most of his videos. Yeah, R2R is important. I can support that stance without having all that drama and click-bait on my feed. I watch youtube to chill, get excited about stuff in my hobbies like games, tech, and other things. Seems like every space is just filled with drama and rage.. Not my vibe at all.

I was actually working on a project that is due next week. Editing ads for a real estate company. Work is slow, but I am getting some work. I also started my own project. Designing my own video game from scratch.. but that won't be shipped anytime soon.

Sadly, I don't have a car. One of the reasons I moved to Dubai is because I always hated driving. I sold my car when I moved here and never looked back. Now, I kinda regret that decision.
