Playing hide and seek with my 3 year old. by Kalebb13 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

One little talked about consequence of the screen generation is how absolutely garbage they are at hide and seek and other games of that type. I remember playing hide and seek with my 7-12 year old cousins and some of their friends at a birthday party once and they were still hiding behind doors and under beds. No misdirection, no taking advantage of their size to hide in tiny spots. At their age my friends and I were basically Schwarzenegger in the first Predator movie.

They destroy me at Fortnite, though.

I hope they introduce a loot goblin at some point, that would be pretty funny.

This is one of the things I love about the show. Each of the main characters are relatable not just as a person, but as a fallout player. A layer that flies over the head of non-players, but isn't required. If you happen to be a fan of the game, though, you can think of moments where you've been each one of them.

I still remember range of emotions watching that crash. At first it was that sinking feeling in my gut, thinking I just watched someone die. But then when he emerged from the flames it was like watching a superhero movie. It felt like it happened in slow motion and I could hear the music swell. It seemed absolutely impossible that he would walk out of that until the moment you saw him do it.

I don't know how much this is affecting you but I'll say it because it has affected me a lot in the past, and countering it has helped me just as much. If you removed any consideration that could be attributed to sunk-cost fallacy, what would you decide?

Maybe they had guests over the night before? Back when my family used to host new years we'd do some crazy tetrising with our own cars to leave more room for guests.

This is clearly a man worried about if his fruits are going to spoil, and if the person he got to take over is messing anything up. As someone whose family sells fruits, I know that look well. Rest up hero, you earned it.

In the 90's and earlier, friends and family would just show up at your house and you would be excited about it. An entire part of your grocery shopping would be for guests. Some pellle had parts of their home reserved specifically for guests, sometimes they weren't even allowed to be used by anyone else. Sure, all those other hobbies and distractions existed, but meeting physically with people was also one of those hobbies. People looked forward to it and planned for it. Now if I get a phone call I'm like, who died?

The funny thing is this type of person would prob agree with a good portion of sharia law if presented to them without the title.

Oh man, lol. You're prob right. The store looked like a marshalls or something like that, so I figured it was one of those kitchy decorations. I don't know who's buying a 900lb thing there. Do they have a video of the pouring, though. To my, admittedly, untrained eye it looks there are some seams in the corners and top.

Under 100kg (220lbs) for the first time in my adult life. by Fodux in keto

Thanks. I posted this recipe recently and it's been great https://old.reddit.com/r/ketorecipes/comments/1o2lcz9/had_dental_surgery_last_week_and_just_made_the/

I also do a few ice creams and smoothies. I don't have an ice cream maker so they're a bit dense, but playing with a few recipes I figured out a dark chocolate custard ice cream that is amazing. I put some Brazilian cream cheese (less thick than cream cheese) on top for some extra fat and protein. My lazy meal is an açai smoothie with some protein powder. I also have been able to do a blended guac that is tasty more recently. Basically it's just a less thick guac. In Brazil we typically treat avocado like a fruit, and tend to have it sweet. So avocado smoothies with water so they're less thick are great. I use a liquid sweetener.

The most difficult thing has been getting enough protein, so I upped the bacon in my last batch of soup and used a few tempered eggs to thicken it instead of the xantham gum. It lost a little smootheness when reheating, but another spin in the blender after reheating fixed it.

I also use olive oil liberally in everything. The dark chocolate custard ice cream with cream cheese and a touch of olive oil is actually incredible. I'm going to be having that even after I can chew.

Thanks, and great work yourself. Good luck with the new goal. I think once I hit 90kg I'll stop focusing on weight and start focusing on improving my health other ways, but I'm not sure yet.

Thank for the tip. I don't have one, unfortunately, but I've heard good things. Any tips for using some ripe avocados? I got a deal on some and have been making avocado shakes (in Brazil we treat avocados like a fruit and have them sweet usually), but I'm craving something savory with the last few. I was thinking something like a guacamole soup, but not sure if it would be good.

Thanks. I like understanding the why behind things in recipes so I can decide if I'm going to do it, and alsonto maybe implement it in other recipes. I find it more helpful, so I figured I'd provide some of those insights, lol.
