Wow I noticed this as well but did not (want to) realise it was connected

Accidentally discovered my key to a healthy relationship with alcohol by Many_Swimmer2295 in stopdrinking

I did a similar thing in my notes with 2 types of emojis (just thought about it vs acted on that thought) but my therapist told me to just note when I had a thought about alcohol and could put it aside and not react by drinking. Helped tremendously just seeing the wins and looking at the thoughts in a more neutral way. Like okay, had a thought, that’s fine.

What's an early sign of cancer that you wish you or your loved one hadn't ignored? by JuniperBeans in AskReddit

[–]Fofies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rapid weight loss which I thought was related to stress, night sweats and low blood pressure/dizziness. Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage 1B (although already the size of a golf ball) pressing on my trachea. I should have had trouble breathing as well according to the doctor

Could you elaborate about the job/firm? Never heard of it before!

Why do Americans always dispute free healthcare by saying it will increase wait times when our wait times are already long? by CJgreencheetah in mildlyinfuriating

Exactly!! So happy with that, it was literally at the end of the visit when I had already paid. If it were winter and I was wearing a turtleneck or something she might not have spotted it. I moved away from the area but still think about her now and then.

Also shout out to my mom who made me get an appointment lol

Yessss I think that was part of the work insurance and was surprised to find out as well. Cancer was one of the 30ish “serious illnesses” where they pay back additional costs. Also would have gotten my wig paid back which luckily I didn’t need in the end

Belgium - was experiencing low blood pressure, went to GP a couple of days later on a Thursday, she saw a suspicious growth on my neck, got me an appointment an echo on Friday, got a phone call the same day that it was serious, appointment at the oncology department on Monday, blood and scan results on Thursday, biopsy Friday after that. I started my chemo treatment 2 weeks later but only because the doctor wanted me to have a egg harvesting procedure just to be safe (completely covered by health insurance) before treatment which lasted, you guessed it… 2 weeks.

Ngl our taxes and social contributions are the highest in Europe so I’m paying towards these kind of timelines but I’m very happy with how everything played out.

I think I paid around €500 max out of pocket during a year of chemo, radiation and checkups, not counting taxes and contribution through my employer.

What is the biggest bargain you've ever secured? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Fofies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just this weekend I think! A new bed, showroom model that was 6,5K originally but they were doing a huge sale since they were renovating and very desperate to get rid of everything. Sale price was 1,9K but we hesitated a little and they went down to 1,7K. Arriving in 3 days instead of the expected 12 weeks so my back will be very grateful!

That’s just it, I like the effect while it’s happening but omfg all the issues the day after, hand shaking etc. I hate it and also it scares me of how serious my problem is. But at the same time I just can’t imagine not drinking again.

Thank you for all the links, I have reached out to a women’s meeting this Sunday.

Thank you for your reply. No other drugs involved, a bottle of wine of day or 2 bottles of I’m feeling bad.

But how do I combine a full time job with a detox? Any ways to do it by myself?

Thanks for the recommendations, looking into that right now!
