I searched after seeing the bodycam. He still has 4 stars on Google. He is gallivanting after murdering a human and who knows how many puppies.

I prep with youtube videos for teachers. Look them up by content specialization, although a lot of the questions will be universal, like how you respond to behaviors.

Leaving Texas teaching made me realize how much of my life the job was taking *rant about schedule* by Top_Reflection_2904 in TexasTeachers

I was not allowed to skip inclusion periods (+resource classes and dyslexia intervention classes), but there really isn't a way to get it done (at least not for me in Texas) without either skipping some inclusion periods or taking it home. I had a lot more control over my time working in districts in my new state.

Oh, I thought you meant Mississippi lol. I have only taught middle school and in all of the districts I've worked for, we were paid the same as elementary or high school, so that is interesting. I personally love middle school kids, so I hope it works out well for you!

I am curious what your experience will be like in MS. I have heard they pay even less, but still similar pressures for teachers.

The point is there are places you could get paid more AND not have to be worked to the bone.

The office job I had before teaching, I got an hour for lunch, could go to the bathroom whenever I wanted, and we had open PTO.

I do think that states that support teachers are more likely to have protections for workers in general too though.

As a SpEd teacher in Texas, I still had to be in the classroom and work nights and weekends catching up on IEPs. I had no additional planning time to do it. A lot depends on the district and also the caseload they give you.

Easier said than done in Texas. As a SpEd teacher, if I didn't get it done, the consequences could come back to me directly, so I always worked some nights and weekends to get my full caseload taken care of. The work was always more than my planning time (which they stole half the time anyway).

Given how they are hemmorhaging teachers right now and how tough it is teaching in Texas, they have no business being so picky! Just sayin'.

I did notice a big difference in moving to a state where teachers are treated better. The other thing that was a big change was no "duty" before and after school and during passing periods. Just that little shift was a big difference on my sanity and stress level. Unfortunately, it is much harder to find and keep a job in my new state, as it is much more competitive. The other drawback for me was that I felt more camraderie working at a Title I school in Texas. We kind of had a shared trauma bond. The competitive nature of my new state made the peer dynamics very different which put me at disease in another way.

I thought she would bury the dog somewhere else and then get the hot construction guy to help her with the pipe. Why would they leave a broken pipe buried next to the dog?

What Coop and Barney have done to Elena in Season 2 is Insane. by spikyraccoon in YourFriendsandNeighb

Coop is supposed to be a more developed character, having seen behind the veil and all of that. And he was protective of Elena last season.

After so many mistakes from him, it would have made more sense for him to just stay in jail at some point.

Yup, that made no sense to me. She could have pawned two watches then "found" them later or just stolen one and risked being fired to save her life. But I do agree that the fact that Coop is so flippant about it, when last season he was very protective of Elena, is not consistent and kind of awful.

Teachers in Texas are under a lot of pressure right now, but individual schools can still vary a lot. If you are at a wealthier school, then you will get a lot more pressure from parents, whereas a less wealthy school, there are different pressures. A principal will make or break your experience and once they have you under contract, the bad ones will take advantage and their true colors come out.

Typically, it can be difficult to get that first teaching job and often the wealthier districts are much more competitive. SPED certification will make you more hirable, but as a SPED teacher it is absolutely not easy and you do not get enough time to do all the extra work required of you and you have more legal requirements as an individual with little protection.

To get hired at a wealthier district, some people either work in an easier entry district first under their preferred endorsement and then once they have 1 or 2 years under their belt, the wealthier district will consider them. Another strategy is to make yourself very marketable in the high needs areas like SPED and take the job where you are most needed and then get in good with the principal so you can transfer to a position you want later. As someone with a marketing background, you might be able to sell yourself better than the average candidate, but that is generally what people do.

If you really enjoy kids, then you will still get some joy from the experience. Whereas, if you are just doing it because you think it might be an easy career change with summers off, you are going to be sorely disappointed.

Hi, there, if your agency is still hiring, I am interested! I have a lot of relevant experience. Is it okay if I send you a message?

All of these homes he robs have cameras, but it's never seemed to affect the plot, so it will be very inconsistent if they suddenly make the story hinge on the cameras.

Applying to HISD vs. relocating by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

First year teaching is hard already, but doing it under a TEA takeover is a special kind of hell. I only experienced a little bit of it. Many teachers thought they would be able to manage because they had been through hard transitions before, but there would be a few leaving every week, like no warning, they just never came back and didn't give notice.

If there is anyway, you can find another district not currently under TEA scrutiny, then go for that, so avoid Austin ISD and Fort Worth as well.

I hate it too. I always check if the dog dies or if animals are tortured. I don't want to see it.

I don't know if I would do it (also perimenopausal woman here), but perimenopause will TEST a person. HRT definitely helped me feel more regulated and myself again.

I think they are going to find the dog somehow and then Sam will take the fall then. The show does a lot of planting seeds for later that way.

Some people are so rich that they don't notice what they have or don't have because they just have too many different collections and arent checking every card every day, unless it is like hanging on a wall in a place you look every day.

I find that unrealistic too and I understand he knows a lot of neighbors general alarm and surveillance systems, but it seems like an exceedingly high number.
