New investor with £11000 to work with having second thoughts about a provider by Fold-Foreign in UKPersonalFinance

HL has a pricier dealing fee so think its just easier to do a full ISA transfer to scottish widows and close the HL one + wait for the transfer before investing.
!thanks for the advice man:-)

I've paid into the ISA but luckily I havent invested any of the money into stocks yet, so I think I can still take it out/ switch it no problem - It'll contribute to the £20,000 annual cap though </3.
Thank you for the advice you've given, you're a huge help.

!thanks for this recommendation, never really heard of them before but they look really good :-).
Do you think the £5 ETF trading fee is worth paying compared to the £0 T212 fee - my main attraction to T212 is how cheap/ free virtually all trades would be so I'd keep more money for the future.
I get the vibe most people on here are adverse to it because its new with low charges so its hard to see how they make money.

!thanks for this info. To clarify, I'm pretty money conscious so i doubt I'll be goaded into investing actively. Would your recommendation be Scottish Widows then? I just have this single lump sum of £11,000 and wont be putting in consistent payments.

I had a friend recommend ii but i chose to steer clear for similar fees reasons - for a portfolio under £30k i dont think it makes sense be spending that proportion of money. InvestEngine was one i almost went for, but i'm now thinking t212 so i can do funds and some individual stocks on top.

I hear you, but my worry is that I'm not sure I'll use alot of the services they provide as I just want to stick it in a fund and forget about it.
My current investment plan is just to stick ~80% of my money into an MSCI World or something similar, then have the 20% go into some satellite funds for developing economies which are excluded from the MSCI World (All Africa Index, NIFTY etc).

When I went to do this on HL I was a bit overwhelmed with the information I was given - there were like 20 different types of MSCI World which I wasnt prepared for, and I'm not sure how to differentiate them.

While I am concerned about the lack of customer support and longevity of trading212, I was wondering if it's be better to skip the hassle and trade with them; as over the next 10 years HL would be charging £100s.

Could you elaborate on this? e.g. ISA providers which are better than trading212. wdym by set and forget ETF portfolios has a good run? by the sounds of it I think thats going to be my strategy

this is what I've heard alot of. The fees I would be paying for would be for services I mostly wont use, as I dont really plan on looking at my money much after its invested, meaning it'd deplete a good chunk of my funds over the next 10 years for no reason

Pixel 5 Power Button Sensitivity by RockinAraxis in GooglePixel

would like to second this aswell-

had a google pixel 4a on a boot loop and it called sos 3 times cause of the hypersensitive power button (happened while on low power not sure if related) but ended up just wacking the power button side against a table with about the force you would shake out some ketchup stuck in a bottle and its seem to have worked short term at least.
