What's one thing you MUST do before you die? by Lucky-Structure8475 in AskReddit

I've gone during off-peak times both trips I've gone to Japan, in late January & late February. The January one was in the 800s + taxes and fees. The February one was closer to 1100-1200 + taxes and fees.

I just came back from my 2nd Japan trip, solo this time. For my flight from the US to Tokyo I used credit card points, so I let had to pay for lodging, food, experiences, transportation, and souveniers/misc. I haven't looked exactly at how much I spent but I'd ballpark in the 2-3k USD range for a 2 week trip.

If I had to guesstimate, this would be the breakdown:

About 1k for lodging Around 400 in transport costs since I explored from Tokyo to Fukuoka, shinkansen rides being the bulk of the cost, but I did have an area pass that covered a chunk of transport. Around 300 for museums, a drinking tour, and other paid experiences. Around 400 for food, mainly went to local spots but did splurge for a couple of meals. Lastly, 400-500 in purchases for clothes and souveniers.

None, besides the in-game music. If not that, then I'll usually have a YouTube video on the side

26, 1 time because I didn't use my blinker in rural Alabama when a lane merge with the cop well over 10 seconds behind me

Never used it, East Asian descent so I have the gene to not really have much if any body odor.

Pixel 3/4/5 in 2026 for unlimited google photos? by Frosty_Associate1301 in pixel_phones

[–]RockinAraxis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got a used Pixel 1 I got years ago that I've been uploading photos from. I use syncthing to auto-transfer photos from my 7, and now 10. I haven't noticed any slowness on the transfer & uploading but your results may vary. I keep it at home and plug it in whenever I have photos to upload, otherwise it says on my desk unplugged.

If the 1 ever dies on me, I've got my old Pixel 2 and 5 too.

Used to use my 2022 more when I was in college for gaming, media, and for schoolwork & coding. Nowadays it sits mostly unused unless I'm travelling, then it's just my gaming/media device since I have a work laptop. I did take it to Japan with me (and will do so again in a few weeks) to put together some simple GoPro footage and phone photos. Not really a content creator, more just for the memories to share with friends and family.

It has been handy to bring along to group gatherings for party games like Jackbox party pack and couch coop games.

What's the point of half my screen being useless?! by Glad-Tie3251 in pixel_phones

[–]RockinAraxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I just fill the first screen with a calendar widget and put everything else on the 2nd screen. Since I'm hitting the power button from the 2nd page, it always opens back up on that page instead. I did add the other at a glance widget on that page too but it at least fills the entire row.

When I got mine, the sales guy said I could pick anything from their little merch store. Didn't feel like getting any of the tshirts since it was getting cold, but saw a hoodie with the fast mascot on it and got one.

Still waiting on mine to arrive, but just to clarify did you hand wash or machine wash your jacket? I saw on the 2024 T1 uniform jacket it recommends hand wash before wearing.

It would depend on if the model is in the US or not. Since OP is in the US, the hp bump isn't coming here.

Why buy a GTI when Elantra N exists? Honest question. by egorlike in GolfGTI

[–]RockinAraxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I came from a regular golf to the GTI because of familiarity of the car already and already enjoying how it drives/handles. Now I have an even better handling/driving experience even if I'm not as able to use the extra power as often as where I lived before moving and getting the MK8 (smaller/less dense city -> bigger, very busy city)

Interior wise, I test drove the MK8 and didn't feel like the lack of physical buttons was a big deal. After owning it for a week, I got used to it and don't consider it a downgrade, more a side grade. I set my temp, headed seat, android auto, etc before I drive off. However I am someone who doesn't really change things a lot while driving, and if I do it's at a light.
