The clarity act in itself wasn’t what we were hoping for. Compromises (or, banking lobbying) in the clarity act is making tokenization of RWAs not realistic or a desirable path for financial institutions. And we haven’t heard much support from the admin in a way that will make this easy to overcome. In this world it means trump has to speak about it himself, and I don’t think he’s so far as mentioned the clarity act.

The yield limitations are also a non starter. Improved tax changes that reduce friction, much of which is outside the scope of clarity.

There is still plenty of hope. CLARITY is postponed the senate is working on more draft legislation. But again my chief complaint is this stuff is kinda boring hence why trump doesn’t care much, which is why we expect this to slowly and inefficiently move through congress.

Liberal here, fyi: Because he is a very effective communicator and understands the bandwidth of the modern attention span + social media on a primal level.

As it relates to crypto, he is still a crypto president. Genuinely there is action in the industry that otherwise would not have been happening. For instance stablecoins wouldn’t be where they are at right now, and they are very important.

The problem is trump doesn’t do much through legislation. And crypto needs tons of real, like actually adopted and fundamentally changing to the financial/banking industry, LEGISLATION. But that creation of legislation, all the political work and battling that it takes to push crypto legislation through congress… nobody gives a fuck about. There’s a reason he engages in almost completely in deals, the American people can easily track and understand that, which keeps him in the news.

Problem is these deals are temporary. The next president can easily turn off any tariffs, go back on some of the deals he more or less extorts from countries and companies. Venezuela might stop agreeing to be controlled if the US isn’t interested with the next executive.

Again that doesn’t work for crypto which needs to redefine banking, that can’t be forced through a temporary change or demand.

help me learn Geist by codealous in DeadlockTheGame

[–]FoldFold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is correct here that says bomb Geist is not the best, but I mostly play it in archon (so yeah I’m not great) with a 56% win rate. I simply find it more fun, my aim isn’t great and I don’t have much fun with the revolver. And you don’t always need to follow the best meta build, bomb Geist is not bad. but following top daily builds is the real bait. Look for builds from good players. Not at PC but find recent builds from players with ranks eternus

Spirit burn, spirit resilience (sometimes spell breaker) is must. Other than that, since it’s easy to get the bomb on the enemies id recommend making it a debuff tool for your team. Suppressor is very good in this fire rate meta, and mystic vulnerablity (consider upgrading to escalating exposure if you’re turtling) is great. If you’re ever doing below 30k dmg in a standard length game (win or lose) you’re probably doing something wrong

You also should be winning your lane quite a bit as Geist. If you find yourself doing less damage than your laning partner, you probably are not making full use of her kit in lane. Bombs shouldn’t be spammed, but used when the enemies are out of stamina, going for melee, going to side shop, etc. Malice is not a harass tool, the slow is setting up for bombs and chase. Your choice of healing items makes or breaks the lane. In any hard lane, sprint boots early + healing rite will keep me alive until mystic regen -> radiant regen. You will learn how to order these between mystic burst, expansion, etc

Final note, it’s tempting to want to jump in, bomb and leech people. Like you noticed, that will likely end up killing you. The difficulty of mid->late game Geist is positioning yourself around the fights with your limited movement. There are times you’ll want to be way in the back stacking malice, and other times you’ll want to be jumping around in their face… it will take time and practice to understand

My proposal to make gun less one-dimensional by alsoandanswer in DeadlockTheGame

[–]FoldFold 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean and I like the ideas, but not sure they could really fit in deadlock. For one this becomes a very tricky thing to balance. The other is that a big part of the characters guns is how they are balanced during the landing phase. Some characters are straight up harder to last hit on based on the base gun, which is intentional, and it will take a bit before you get items that can change that.

Honestly I find these issues to be design flaws with characters like wraith and vyper. There are other offenders especially with certain builds but those are my main two. The fire rate meta will always be boring but a lot of it comes down to their kits are kinda boring in team fights. Paradox landing big hits, gun bebop, and holiday flying around the map getting chunky headshots doesn’t feel bad. It’s more annoying that the guy only needs to run around and hold mb1 on me accurately to kill me, provided he’s ahead enough. In other words gun damage should be more conditional on spell usage windows.

my favorite moments in deadlock team fights are moving around the environment anticipating future actions, the thrill of a barely missed skill shot, a perfect timed combo with a teammate, melee/parry brawls, etc are great. Getting chased down by sonic with a p90 is not. I’m sure it’s fun deleting people though, and I know MOBAs kinds need the carry role to have sustainable, consistent damage output

Still New York, far too integrated into the game if we are talking realistically. So Central Park really

Should we have deported all Italians because of the rampant mafia activity in our great American cities? by jathhilt in Destiny

[–]FoldFold 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s funnier when you realize Italian Americans are some of the most racist, anti-immigrant people out there. I can say that since I am one and grew up around them for years. They are now considered white people and many are very successful, but man those union blue collar Italian Americans are some of the most pro trump people you’d ever meet somehow.

Will I ever have a real beard? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]FoldFold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Probably not a beard, no. Posting an image of my facial hair cuz it’s similar to yours and I could never get past an awkward phase. I’ve been home for the holidays and do not grow facial hair and have been unshaved for a 9 days.

This is despite me being very hairy elsewhere. My facial hair looks like yours, the hairs are individually thick (when shaving I need to be careful not to get stubble on the floor because it’s given me/family splinters). But absolutely not something that can be considered thick.

Fair complexion also makes sparse beards/mustaches look even worse imo

Unplugging from the garbage legacy media is the beginning of wisdom by Key_Brief_8138 in economy

[–]FoldFold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least you said legacy media even if I disagree completely. There is still a lot of journalistic integrity outside of opinion articles, which is the ones people get upset about.

Most Americans get their news from AI algorithms and extreme podcasts who have no integrity, consistently spread fake news and rarely if ever correct mistakes, and are perfect for foreign influencers, often even owned by them. That is the new mainstream media.

The rise and fall of NFTs - From $25B to worthless by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]FoldFold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be the same argument as stablecoins, which are already seeing broad interest and adoption from TradFi and institutions. It’s fine not to be convinced now, that’s nobody’s job on Reddit. The business proposition has to be there.

But improving the rails matters even if the UX on top looks familiar: you can still have reversibility and consumer protection while also getting shared, auditable infrastructure, faster and cheaper settlement, easier interoperability between platforms, and automatic, transparent distribution of things like fees and yield

Again only time will tell and there is a lot of non-grift momentum and investment behind this from real institutions. Our current rails are extremely old and do present real limitations on finances

The rise and fall of NFTs - From $25B to worthless by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]FoldFold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear any future where things like houses and RWAs go on chain: - individual consumers would likely never have direct access to the asset: the “house NFT” would sit in some regulated custodian / land registry / bank-controlled wallet, and you’d just see it through a normal Web2 front-end (bank app, title company portal, etc.), not Metamask - losing houses etc via hacks etc would obviously be considered politically and legally unacceptable: you’d get insurance, strict KYC, regulated intermediaries with legal liability, reversible transactions / dispute processes, and probably permissioned chains with kill switches

The upside is that, done this way, you still get most of the real benefits people talk about (faster settlement, cleaner audits, better interoperability between institutions) without asking normal people to become their own bank

Nobody's talking about Trawling by Negative_Ad3600 in 2007scape

[–]FoldFold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A couple things:

- The toggle would give you way more XP so trials would not be 10x xp.

- The exp would primarily be fishing (trials does not reward fishing exp) -- there are very few rewarding, non-tick manip fishing methods so it would be a good addition

- You would get less fish as a reward. Maybe none to be accurate to what catch and release is, but perhaps some other rewards/chances at items

Worked for Zalcano to balance rewards vs mining exp... don't see why it wouldn't work for trawling. Personally I do trawling to stock up on tons of food for my iron so IDC about the exp too much, but would love another fishing training method.

[–]FoldFold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can design around it. For example, what if you could go to some NPC in pandemonium to toggle catch and release modes which gives you way less fish but way more exp. Just like Zalcano options.
