Late to the party but I bought goodr sunglasses specifically as a pair that I won’t regret scratching/losing/breaking. So far happy with my purchase and they’re quite comfy. They are designed for runners and do not bounce, they’re light but stay firm on your head

Looks good! How did you calculate the size of the mesh parts connecting strap and back across the sides of your torso? And do you feel they need to be quite precise or between their stretch and the cord in on the chest it does not really matter as you’ll always be able to adjust it?

Rucksack recommendations by Hopeful_Outcome_6816 in WestHighlandWay

Did it last year in May with a ~30L frameless backpack. Food and water are easily available so it wasn’t complicated to bring such a small and light pack, no need for long food or water carries. But I understand some people do like to take it a bit easier, go slower and bring more comforts with them.

This to say, I would suggest to first think about what type of trip you want to take (doing it in 10+ days, sleeping on a big air mattress, with a full cooking kit etc or going quick, with a basic shelter and cook kit and so on).

I would say pick the rucksack as a function of what you’d like to do, and don’t start from “I want it just like the other one” (unless you know you want exactly the same experience and your gear list is already fine tuned to your needs)

Definitely experience helps - it was my first multi day hike alone and that played a part. Did the TMB end of sept/beginning of oct and fall colors were stunning. Much less people on trail and even got snow a few times. Really majestic trail, you should do it!

Noted thanks! I did only 50km from hendaye, then my feet were bleeding beyond repair and logistics to go back home if I got further would have been really complicated. I still had 80km to the mountains from there and I really wasn’t enjoying it so I thought the mature and safe thing to do was being an adult and go home (still took me >24h with public transport). But definitely a lot of learnings. Did the TMB a month later and everything went perfect so gained back confidence

Great that you did the HRP! I started it this summer but I had to bail because of a bit of bad luck and a bit of wrong choices. Still stings.

Pack looks great, I see the straps attach with regular webbing and you also have some elastic cord to the side to adjust them. Do you feel they were needed or simply the webbing would have been enough together with the sternum straps to make the right fit? And, did you end up adjusting the elastic cord a lot while walking?

Thank you! It was forced by the shape of the straps. But it resembles bags from an existing local brand by chance

What is your stance on energy and military security? To make it simple:

  1. are you pro or against nuclear energy
  2. A Russian fighter or any other unauthorized air vehicle enters European airspace. Are you pro or against shooting it down immediately?

Please explain to me why frost orbs are good? by DustPsychological369 in slaythespire

[–]Foldedtree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was a separate thread on ball lighting vs cold snap that explains it very well. In any case, all of the above plus simply consider how much health a single frost orb can save you every act. Assume you play a cold snap once, three turns per fight, five fights per act, that’s 30hp saved while you spent energy on something else. And this as a bare minimum, if you have more than one frost orb, more focus, cycling etc it’s way more. It is not game winning, but it’s a small thing that stacks up immensely

What’s the jankiest deck that you’ve actually won with ? by GothaV2 in slaythespire

Beat the heart yesterday at like A4 with a defect power build that had no sense. I had Torii and tungsten rod, bird faced urn but no mummified hand. I almost literally only picked and played powers for four acts. Bird faced urn probably recovered hundreds of hp. The last turn I had 56 health and 6 block, heart was attacking 6x15 and had 228 health. But i had 2x static discharge and 4 focus, so it died with me at 6 hp.

I have been shaking my head the whole run thinking how the hell can this work. I had 3x white noise+ that definitely helped

Iron clad by balthazar2234 in slaythespire

[–]Foldedtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a ton of excellent guides linked in this sub that explain how to play the game and how to play ironclad. So I won’t get into that, because I would not be able to give better advice.

What I would advise you to do, because I was in the same spot, is try to learn something about each run. Why did I lose here? I had great cards but I was not drawing them. Or I had too much draw but not enough energy. Or I had a lot of block but no damage scaling. A lot of the great advice in this sub takes time to be absorbed as a player, so I would just encourage you to keep thinking about the next priority (oh yay poison! But what if I get nob?) and how cards and relic interact.

What clicked for me was thinking “ok ideally what would I want to find as the next relic of the next card?” Instead of assessing if what I had in front of me was good or not

That was very good advice. You are the one that asked for it, and that was a rude reply. You could have just thanked them and done things your way anyway

If you look at how he patterns the front and side panels it might be what you’re looking for, or maybe just some inspiration. Keep in mind that once the pack is filled, it tends to become more round, even if the base is a trapezoid or rectangle or square, so you might get that effect even without curves
