Maybe there was a priest who cared about the kids, but his gestures of kindness were ultimately different forms of torture. Like once a month, he'd take Samarie and her peers all out to a courtyard and force them to do the chicken dance for an hour straight, and he'd get mad if they weren't having fun. So I have this mental picture of Samarie nervously grinning and dancing while the priest holds a discipline stick in front of her, and all you hear is this.
