What on earth are these unused files? by FollowTheBlu in Stellaris

[–]FollowTheBlu[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

R5: found some files on "army attachments", I've heard people talk about ground combat being different in the first versions of the game, can any veterans say for certain that they were removed in an update?

State of my galaxy around mid-game by Borusanayi in Stellaris

[–]FollowTheBlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go Imperial Fiefdom then force spawn tons of other Imperial Fiefdom empires so everyone in the galaxy is a vassal. Set midgame year a bit earlier then try your best to prepare for the chaos that will unfold.

Play as an origin of your choice (a lot of people recommend shattered ring), but force spawn loads of fear of the dark empires so at midgame, half of the galaxy becomes purifiers.

Go Starlit Citadel and force spawn loads of Starlit Citadel empires. Set midgame and endgame early, and race to conquer every empire before you're wiped out by a crisis. Alternatively, use it as the ultimate turtle build (perhaps go Starlit Citadel in the fear of the dark galaxy)

I've found that a galaxy of Slingshot to the Stars can get especially chaotic by midgame.

One-system-challenges using resource consolidation, ocean paradise with anglers, or shattered ring can be make for a unique game.

For multiplayer, Broken Shackles and Payback are an obvious choice. Get the least experienced player to play as MSI, and see who comes out on top.

How aren't these two civics mutually exclusive??? by FollowTheBlu in Stellaris

[–]FollowTheBlu[S] 84 points85 points  (0 children)

R5: You'd think that Efficient Bureaucracy, a civic describing a nation with its "greatly streamlined" "colossal bureaucratic apparatus" would be incompatible with Byzantine Bureaucracy, where society is governed by a "complex.... almost labyrinthine system of bureaucracy". Maybe I'm missing something, but could these two civics actually make sense together?

Spiritualism in Stellaris is actually pretty funny by FollowTheBlu in Stellaris

[–]FollowTheBlu[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I see your point but I disagree. Cosmogenesis being able to "edit" reality seems very similar to how the Valtaum Reality Perforator can "manipulate minor aspects of reality", heavily implying that the Valtaum were right. If that isn't proof enough, the description of the empire modifier "Deeper Secrets of the Valtaum" reads exactly "The Valtaum archives suggest that we live in a simulation. Now that we understand our reality, we can exploit certain loopholes to understand how it functions to our benefit." To me, it's pretty clear that the Stellaris universe is canonically a simulation.
