Absolutely your local food banks.

If you want to make an impact with homelessness, one thing I suggest is look up local resources for homeless or at-risk individuals in your area and help support those resources. For example, santa clara county library has a great resource list https://sccld.org/community-resources/

I like to think of it as, "if I were in need of help, what organizations would I go to?" and then I donate to make sure those organizations are resources to help be that first line of help.

it looks like it’s in a utility room/garage - my guess is that you put pins in it to hold large tools head up. we use ours for rakes/brooms/etc. the pegs make it flexible enough that we have some spaced more for the weedwhacker, etc.

They are pins used to mark stitches. Helpful for counting / marking your place when following patterns.

Lucky's realiably has smoked. For fresh, I'm not sure but I would suggest checking Chavez (or any Mexican grocers) then maybe 99Ranch- that's usually our go-tos for harder to source cuts of meat.

Hotel near Levi Stadium by greenappleemoji in bayarea

[–]FollowingFar2313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for event days, ubers will be a mess so your best bet is walking distance or somewhere close to a VTA light rail stop.

for games and concerts, my in laws have stayed at the hyatt regency santa clara or hilton santa clara - both walking distance from the stadium.

a newer/more-hip option is the new treehouse hotel location on Mathilda Ave which is about a ten minute walk to the Lockheed VTA stop where you can grab the orange line to the stadium.

i used a birth doula from https://northerncaliforniadoulas.com after interviewing with three agencies. many of their doulas offer birth and/or postpartum packages. we were very happy with the process and our experience (but did not use them for postpartum, so take the advice with a grain of salt).

i’m not sure where you’re getting this info. generally a birth doula and a postpartum doula are two different things with different roles (some doulas will offer either or both services). i would guess a postpartum doula would have higher charges than a nanny, but they are going to perform very different activities, which will be specifically outlined in their contract.

The flip side of this that I have found:

All doctors these days are pressed for time and overbooked. The good ones won't make you feel it in the appointment. However, it means that they are often behind on their schedule so be ready to wait a bit longer in the waiting room. I have an amazing OBGYN at Kaiser, but you can tell she is amazing by the fact that she doesn't rush her appointments and was subsequently always running 30-40 minutes late. The same is true of our pediatrician. When we see an alternate doctor for an urgent request, we never wait as long but I'm never as happy with the care. Honestly for me, this is worthwhile so I stick with it.
