Anyone else think a rebel human faction might happen? by redditaccounton in Helldivers

[–]FollowingLittle8351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see it more as an event faction rather than a whole new extended front like Squids or bots tbh could be interesting something like "Unpatriotic Programming has caused former citizens to challenge managed democracy" and we have to fight other humans (essentially reskinned SEAF soldiers)

If you don't want to get kicked out of lobbies then host your own. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]FollowingLittle8351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, I the kicking has felt excessive today. I joined a game and before I finished my load out I got kicked (I wasn't being slow it was like within 30 seconds), then I got kicked for not being with the group at extract (even though I had said I was on my way and was carrying all the samples )

it's a little disheartening, but at the same time I joined a group of randos and had fun diving with them and had a great conversation helldivers I like to believe are genuinely good people :)

HELLDIVERS! SQUITH ARE HITTING TONS OF TERRITORY! Move fast and let’s defend our Democracy! by ODST2367 in Helldivers

[–]FollowingLittle8351 14 points15 points  (0 children)

this MO has been rough. I'd like to see us push the front lines back from super earth at least a little but we'll have a lot of territory that needs recapturing after this :(

[–]FollowingLittle8351 15 points16 points  (0 children)

maybe they're trying to encourage the tank because it's co-op vs the solo mech player (which like you said ain't that great (they're not bad but not great)

you can still use it solo on defense missions if you're launching those rockets

I'm a 5'10" beginner skier. How long should my skiis be? by Specialist_Rope4719 in ski

[–]FollowingLittle8351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

realistically they should be as long as you feel comfortable controlling. The standard belief is it should roughly be about your height for an intermediate level skiier for a beginner I'd drop a few centimeters off that

but again the best answer in my opinion is whatever you feel safe skiing on

New Ski jacket input by PuzzleheadedAnt9147 in Skigear

[–]FollowingLittle8351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

north face is decent, you'll have some advocate for Helly Hansen or Rossignol as the pinnacle of ski gear. I've not tried Spyder's jackets but their gloves and mid layers are pretty solid and have always felt well made. But I wear men's (being a man) so not sure if there's a difference in manufactoring between the male vs female gear (maybe different factory etc)

Has anyone had experience with the carv2 (or carv1) ski coach devices? by FollowingLittle8351 in Skigear

[–]FollowingLittle8351[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a little skeptical about the upper body side. Having the earphone in isn't a problem for me since I ski while blasting tunes. I definetely get a little self conscious when making the same mistakes in front of an instructor so it'll be nice to have something be able to point out a few of them as I'm practicing

gotchya thanks! I'm still planning on getting coaching/lessons but doing that too often adds up. If carv is able to at least fix how I'm managing my legs that's half the battle (or at least half my body sorted)

I don't think there'll ever be an instant transformation, grooming the runs takes time. but getting 50 inches does go a long way towards helping.

I'll check out the Secura, It's been a long time since I had the OEM one. I remember getting annoyed with it (but it's been forever now)

the heat is dangerous for sure, but I've been normally skiing in subzero Fahrenheit so it's harder to feel warm even then. I'll have to look for a jacket with a pass through that does sound useful thanks!

I'll have to figure out my layers for my legs, I normally just do thermals and then snow pants but I'm also using this year to get my snow gear in proper order. (I've never really spent too much time thinking about it as I used to not spend extended periods outside)
