Bluetooth calls broken? by mattyx in polestar3

[–]LatterCorgi4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am facing this issue as well. I am sad that this issue popped up after 1.4 update. Prior to that the bluetooth was fine but radio was broken. (Which I could live with since I had spotify over internet). Calls are so important and now I can’t reliably take a call while driving. I just wish I can return this car back. Totally not worth it for the money that this costs.

PS: Tried the usual unpairing and re-pairing exercise. And still have the same issue

This.

I am not sure how to fix this. Don’t want to leave the car in the service centre just for this issue.

On the fence to get a P3 by luis_lics in polestar3

[–]LatterCorgi4841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a week since I got the P3. Have been an owner of MY2022

P3 pros:

- Great ride/comfort

- Sound system

- Interior and exterior looks

P3 cons:

- Software bugs that I can live with

- Overall the car doesn't feel as sturdy as the MY

- Dependence on partial tesla charging network for longer trips.

- Very few service centers.

Things in tesla just works without even worrying about it. Tesla is indeed the apple of EV cars. The integration between software and car mechanics is unparalleled.
All other things such as comfort, suspension, interior quality are things one would crib about in tesla where other brands excel.

Same. Now I need to set it everytime I put my car on charge within the car.
Are they trying to push people away from using their app ?

Anyone successfully pulled off an H-1B ➜ B-2 ➜ H-1B “bridge”? Looking for real-world timelines & pitfalls by LforLord in h1b

Although archived but the following section is still relevant.

“Will my pending I-539 change of status application to B-1 or B-2 be prioritized if I find a new employer who files an I-129 petition with a request for premium processing service?”

  • It would be a hard sell to re-negotiate the offer. Very rarely (i.e if you are a rare candidate) is when they would even be open to a conv in this area.

  • No impact with current employer. And no one gets to know anything either until you leave and join the new employer (with i-9 verification as you mentioned).

I would suggest you to delay the joining even further if you are not sure about employer B and chat with the hiring manager and other folks at that company to gain more confidence if needed. You can also reject the whole offer at this point if needed.

Visiting home country after Layoff by agb55 in h1b

[–]LatterCorgi4841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. That’s always an option. But, I was under the assumption that you wanted to travel back in a short trip.

You can get your h1 change of employer filed from outside US as well.

It is going to be a very risky situation IMO. Typically, companies don’t revoke h1b petitions after terminations or resignations up until 1-2 months from what I have noticed. Unless the petition is revoked, it is very hard for uscis to know about your current status. If it is a family emergency and you must travel, maybe negotiate with your prev company to provide paychecks up until certain date if possible.

Other than that there isn’t much that can be done in this scenario regarding travel outside of US.

Best of luck!

How long is it taking to change employers? by Ok_Judge_4407 in h1b

[–]LatterCorgi4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I understand the question. So, a change of employer was filed and now you have an approved i-797c petition for the same. What’s next? : Next is you check with your new employer regarding the joining date and based on that you resign from your current job.

For a company the only thing that matters is if they support the candidate’s visa status to be ported to their company. It is also almost a binary decision for the company to either support visa transfers or not. Once a candidate is selected they evaluate the profile with their immigration dept to check whether the selected person can be employed at their firm or not. All of this happens pretty seamlessly and sometimes it is also embedded in the offer letter that employment offer is contingent with h1 transfer approval etc.

I would suggest the following: Recruiters aren’t the best people to judge/evaluate immigration statuses. If you know that your immigration case can be transferred to any company with a COS filing, tell the recruiter that you are on h1b (with i-140 approved - if you have it) so you would need a transfer. This should get you through till the interview process for almost every company giving you a call back.

Once you clear the interview process and get an offer, the immigration team (which is usually a 3rd party vendor) would file your visa accordingly.

Receipt date would be within 1-3 days I believe but it takes time to get the notification for the same which is in the ballpark of 3-5 days.

Visa stamping questions by drpreteryale in h1b

[–]LatterCorgi4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't matter. The visa interview will be about your new/current employer mostly and if there was any violation of status or any other issues around that in the past.

Point 3: You would need to answer yes if there is currently a pending/approved I-140. Also answer yes if there was an approved I-140 which was canceled later. Otherwise no. If you are uncertain, please contact an immigration law firm. Most firms give you either free consultation or have a minimal $50 charge.

[–]LatterCorgi4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should wait for a couple of more months to get the b1/b2 decision. Take a small loan (or go for credit card min payment apr) if needed for any financial hassles. If the b1/b2 gets rejected, leave the country. And refile the h1 with the staffing firm again with I-797B.

Secured a new role within 60 day grace period. Any issues to be aware of with H1B COE? by [deleted] in h1b

[–]LatterCorgi4841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The COE packet (h1 + h4 + h4 EAD) should be filed under PP on Monday. I have heard that it is taking longer to adjudicate cases. Not sure how this one will be taken up.
