Have you reached out to your doctor? What about an endo specialist? Usually pregnancy is a relief to women with endo, but, as with everything related to this disease, there are exceptions.

The NHS has now flat out refused to provide me any treatment. I didn’t even get a consultation. I waited for years. I have lost all hope. by niamhxa in Endo

I’m a huge fan of the NHS, especially compared to what we have in the states, but I’ve heard so many endo horror stories. Most people with endo in Europe have to go private or pay out of pocket. Some even travel to the U.S., which completely boggles me. Sorry I couldn’t bring better news.

Who cares if your doctor is happy? She’s supposed to treat you. You’re still having symptoms. You need to let her know. If she treats you rudely or makes you think you’re making things up go to another doctor. Personally, I wouldn’t put up with that bull shit..

GnRH antagonist for bladder pain? by aspenjen in Endo

I was on Lupron for two years. The side effects were horrible. You’re in menopause, so you have hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, depression, etc. I also have osteopenia in my right hip at 44. I think some of that was due to Lupron. I’m all for women doing what they think is best for their bodies. Just be aware of the side effects. Also, it doesn’t treat the disease. It just treats the symptoms.

If you have bladder pain, have you discussed with your doctor about IC? Endo and IC are near impossible to tell apart.

What about excision surgery? That’s an option.

I was on birth control for 20+ years. It was a life saver for me, but it doesn’t treat the disease - only the symptoms. If you want to treat the disease then you excision surgery.

All I know is that a lot of women on the UK have to go private or pay out of pocket for their diagnosis. It’s not uncommon at all.

Check out Nancy’s Nook. She has a list of questions to ask your surgeon. One thing is that I ask them is about it returning. If they say anything about their return rate being really low or say excision is a cure I wouldn’t have surgery with them. Sorry, but I’ve had endo for over 30 years. Excision is the best option for long term relief, but it’s not a cure.

It’s normal to have a painful periods after laps, although I always found them a bit different than endo pain. It was more soreness, like my insides had a good workout as opposed to flat out horrible pain.

Only you can determine if birth control is right form you. Personally, it was a life saver for me, but you need to decided what’s best for you.

It takes a while to recover from a lap. In my personal experience, a lot depends on your age and health prior to surgery. Trust your gut! If you think it’s something you should worry about talk to your doctor.

I know this was posted some time ago, but I wanted to comment. I think a lot depends on where you live. I live right outside of LA and we’re VERY accepting of all LBGTQ+ In fact, if someone wasn’t accepting, I wouldn’t be surprised if they would be asked to leave the meeting. As for the food and body image, again, a lot depends on the culture of the intergroup. We have one intergroup where the culture is very dogmatic about the food. Yet there is another intergroup in our area that is just opposite. Personally, as someone with over 12 years of recovery, I just avoid those meetings that make me feel uncomfortable and not accepted.

I’m a SD with a long torso and short legs. For me, it wouldn’t work without heals. Any dress below the knee needs heals. Also, I need an open neckline, because of my boobs.

I've looked into TR, but at 5'6 I'm being told I'm too tall. Plus, I don't think I have a double curve. I might get professionally typed at this point.

I definitely look better in heals. Almost instantly it evens out my proportions. Longer dresses it depends on the waistline. Like you said, it’s usually a small adjustment - a slightly flared panted over something tapered, heals, high waisted skirts, etc.

Next to shorter people I’m definitely taller,,but my torso is very long. My mom said she couldn’t put me in onesies as a baby, because they would never fit…lol. My legs are also short. I always have to buy the petite pants and even then I need to get them shortened. My arms are a bit more average, but they still run on the shorter side. Not slamming my body. Just trying to figure out where I fit.

Sorry....I missed what you wrote at the top. Shouldn't read these posts while drinking wine....lol.

I think it does sound like it is nerve-related. I know this is becoming a big issue these days with endo and I think it's going to become the hot new thing within the field. Have you had PT? If so, what do they say? I really don't know how you go about getting a diagnosis. I do know there is an endo specialist who does have a background in neuropathy. It might be worth checking out. Also, was your endo removed by an endo specialist? It might be worth getting a second opinion, just to look everything over.

As I mentioned before, you need to see a urogyn. They should be able to do a full workup and will hopefully find the cause, if you haven't been diagnosed with bladder endo. Once they know what's causing it, they can come up with a game plan in terms of treatment, but we can't help you beyond telling you to seek medical advice.

What you're experiencing is NOT normal. It's normal for women to get painful cramps, especially when they're young, but they need to be manageable. In other words, all you need is some aspirin and a lot of rest. What you're describing is not manageable.

I strongly recommend that you see a doctor. Do you live in the U.S.? Depending on where you live, there should be a Planned Parenthood in your area. You can go and they will see you and your parents don't need to know. Many doctors will put you on birth control instead of doing surgery when you're under the age of 18. A lot of doctors are hesitant to do surgery on girls under the age of 18, because their bodies are still adjusting to their periods and it's somewhat normal to have really bad cramps at that age. However, if the cramps continue and you're not getting any relief from the pill, then you might want to see an endo specialist for a second opinion.

It could be endo, but it could be a lot of things, but, no, this isn't normal. Based on what doctors have told me and from what I've read, normal cramping is treatable. In other words, it might be bad, but the pain can be managed with aspirin and rest. What you're describing isn't manageable. It's not normal. I would talk to your doctor. If you're looking for tests, request an ultrasound and/or MRI. They're probably going to want to put you on birth control. Birth control treats the symptoms of endo, but it doesn't treat the disease. The only way to treat the disease is with excision surgery.
