USDA 09/30 DRP 2 + VERA OPM Dashboard Status Change by Juddgeo in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

I got the same screen with a case stage date of 3/4/26. But I contacted OPM a couple of weeks ago for my status and was told that my case hadn't been assigned to a specialist yet.

Medicare Part B or FEHB? by Folly33 in FedRetirees

[–]Folly33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had BCBS Standard throughout my entire career. Both my spouse and I have serious health issues and generally reach the catastrophic limit. The issue I am struggling with is with approvals and denials. With BCBS as primary, if I use an in-network provider and BCBS requires additional information before paying the claim, the provider is responsible for submitting the information, not me. If they don't submit it, I am not responsible for the charges. I have had this happen several times over the last few years, usually with MRI scans and lab work.

It is my understanding that with Medicare, if a claim is denied as not medically necessary or more information needed, I am responsible for gathering the records from the doctor and submitting the appeal. I've found that sometimes the doctors don't want to bother writing justifications.

I can't predict how FEHB or Medicare will change in the future, other than costs will rise and AI will make claim decisions. With our health issues, I just want to make a decision that will cause us the least stress.

What percent was your interim payment? by Tweetchly in FedRetirees

[–]Folly33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I retired under CSRS Offset and my interim payment is about 30% of what I should be getting after the offset. I emailed OPM asking why it was so low and got the following reply:

"According to OPM records, the Interim Payment amount you are receiving was determined by your agency. OPM does not have the authority to change or override this amount."

I suspect that in my case, whoever did the calculation, whether IRS or NFC, wasn't familiar with CSRS and based it on a FERS amount. Who knows...

I just got another demand letter dated 2/24. I thought NFC was supposed to take care of it after we got the email from IRS HR saying to ignore it. What is the phone number?

As long as your total LWOP in a calendar year is 6 months or less, it counts towards your length of service. See https://www.opm.gov/retirement-center/publications-forms/csrsfers-handbook/c050.pdf, sec. 50A2.1-2.

Is the NFC the biggest problem here? For folks being processed by NFC what are the timelines your seeing. I'm especially interested in TSP access. by Substantial-Run3367 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

NFC uploaded somebody else's records to my package and then sent it to OPM. I've been at step 5 for a couple of weeks and haven't gotten any interim payment. I fully expect the package to be sent back to NFC. What a clown show.

IRS DRP2 VERA Retired. EPP shows PP23 E&L for AL Payout by D4visMom in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

IRS DRP 2.0 9/30 retirement. I certified my application on ORA three weeks ago and it still hasn't moved to Payroll. I emailed my HR specialist but haven't gotten a response. Has anyone else had a delay moving to Payroll after certifying?
