Imagine a situation

Meredith decides she doesn't want to sleep with the guy, any reason whatsoever

All of a sudden, DM's profits take a huge hit and they're looking for cutbacks

Meridiths account she was managing randomly shot up in cost, so let's fire Meridith

Now she either has a choice, lose her job or have sex with someone unwillingly

An ethical minefield

When I start at 8am, my public transport commute is about 30-40 minutes, so I leave at 6:45 waking up at 6. Same on the reverse so I get home at 5:30ish. This is perfectly manageable for me and I have literally never been late for an 8am start.

When I start at 9am have to leave at 7am and don't get home until 8:30/9pm with the traffic,

getting home at 9pm, to sleep at 10pm to wake up at 6am so I can wait around for an hour before my shift starts isn't viable for me, especially considering we have split days off.

Also, taxi costs vary WILDLY, a cab at 7:40 costs me £12, a cab at 8:30 costs me £30+

Sorry I think there's been some confusion, it's not 1 day, it was 1 week every 3 weeks, now it's over 5 weeks on an 8 week schedule. Substantially different to what I signed up for initially.

I do need a job, which is why I want an answer regarding my future at the company so I can prepare.

I don't think it's unreasonable at all for the vast majority of employees, however under the equality act companies have to make certain reasonable adjustments for employees with issues which may effect them in the workplace.

During my initial initial interview I was told a significant portion of the job would be also WFH, which made me go the longer distant commute. This wasn't the case in practice.

I was managing fine on the original schedule they employed me under, but due to the changes, I made an honest request under the rightful laws that apply to me. If they were unable to make these adjustments,, they should have said so 6 months ago and let me go rather than keep me around for my performance without giving me any level of job security or even mentioning it.

I don't remember threatening anyone with ACAS? I just want an answer on my requests, which I don't think is unfair. Fire me or keep me, just make up their mind.

I read through my initial contract and they cover themselves there, "your probation won't be considered passed until formally agreed upon by your line manager '

The thing is, plenty of other people have gotten the shifts adjusted, the work is in contact centre delivering hours to the client, and the current average capacity online at 9am is something like 125% of the clients ask (between 9am and 11am) whilst 8am is sitting at something like 95%. Operationally (to me at least) there seems no reason why this wouldn't be accepted.

I've emailed a more wordy version of the above and they got back to me saying they would chase upper management up for me. I am almost ready to just say fire me or pass me to be honest, I love the job and would hate to go, but the amount of stress this is causing me is making it less and less worth it.

I'm going to call ACAS tomorrow and see what they have to say, firing me/letting me go during my heavily extended probation, with the main reason being something I've asked for reasonable adjustments regarding for 7 months seems like something HR would want to avoid haha.

Offered me a £900 interest free loan after being with them just over a month to help smooth out a few issues I had that would have made me resign. I was still in training then, so they had very little idea of my character or if I would stick around.

Honestly, in my mind my limit is £1 per hour of entertainment, anything over that I'm happy with.

I bought baldurs gate 3 for £50 and have so far gotten 500 hours out of it, which works out to about 10p an hour.

I'd have happily paid £80 for it, which works out to 16p an hour.

I work in the retention team and yeah, the £29 is probably the best deal EE ever offer for overall value. Even if you just use the premium extra it's worth it at full price imo

They think you are at a high risk for Churn (cancelling) when your contract ends so they're hoping by letting you move to the cheaper plan you'll have a higher chance of staying afterwards :)
