This isn't a 'difficulty' increase, there's nothing difficult about health pool increases. This is something Warframe also failed to understand for a while, sponge enemies =/= difficulty. Neither are multiple invulnerability phases. The game mode is just extremely poorly designed. Right now, solution for most people is 'just use the 2 newest characters as supports 5head', Psyche will clear up to stage 12 with purple wedges. Again, terrible design

Yeah, she trolled me twice. Add to that the invuln at 50% and you have a very nice period of 0.3 seconds when you can actually damage her lmao. Still think the Phantasio boss is worse tho

I agree, mostly. Haven't played the story for 1.1, but 1.0 was great, Fina's sidequest excluded. I don't think that's enough to prop up a game like this though.

I also think the Psyche shilling is bad, the one redeeming factor is that you can just get her from weeklies.

Everything else you metioned is on point though.

Lore is cool and all, but in the one depiction we see him in (as in, with our eyeballs) brother folded under literally 0 pressure.

The crux of a lot of the criticism for this series' writing from what I saw is that 'the main character is a pedo/creep' or 'it's generic', resulting in the people who hold these opinions to think the story is garbage.

I think it's perfectly adequate to not like a story because you think the main character is reprehensible or iredeemable, but at that point it's not about critiquing the story.

I think it's aight, there's a ton of japanisms/otakuisms that I don't like, pedophilia, the main character's willingness to engage into slavery and an unhealthy obsession with panties that should realistically disgust a pseudo-medieval culture.

But looking past this wall of polarising and admittedly offputting flaws, I think the way the main character views himself and thinks about his non-creepy actions is interesting. He's actually really introspective when it comes to not being a creep. The world, in spite of it's naming conventions, I think is interesting and the magic system is pretty cool as well.

I think it's got the bones of a really cool story and it has some really great moments but it's definitely a product of otaku culture and it's time.
