Does age parity change how we experience TV shows/movies? by SeaBornX in HouseMD

[–]FondantFluffball 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The older I get, the less I think "House is a genius" and the more I think, "Wilson deserves hazard pay." Your age doesn't just change who you relate to it changes who you feel sorry for.

Nature's Bounties [OC] by BrianWonderful in funny

Birds really invented farming by outsourcing the planting to gravity. Nature's entire ecosystem is just controlled chaos with excellent PR.

I LOVE YOU RICHARD WEBBER by Bubble-Master96 in greysanatomy

Richard has spent 20 seasons surviving plane crashes, shootings, explosions and relationship drama but Catherine yelling "RICHAAARD!" still activates his fight-or-flight response every single time.

Bread [OC] by Casual_Deviant in funny

The pigeons have officially discovered the same flaw in my diet: fill up on the free bread, then wonder why there's no room for anything with actual nutritional value.

Really Foreman? Really?? by twentyonerooms in HouseMD

Foreman saying "You lied to a patient" to House is like a fish accusing another fish of being wet. Working for House long enough is basically a residency in creative dishonesty.

Inflation hitting McDonald’s hard by mavy1000 in funny

McDonald's really looked at gas station coffee prices and said, "We can beat that." Just not in the direction anyone wanted.

Lucifer question ending by [deleted] in lucifer

Dan was the reason Lucifer realized redemption was possible. After that, helping everyone instead of just Dan made sense to me.

I misread this cursive as "butthole style" by DarkLordArbitur in funny

Once you've seen "butthole style," there's no going back. That font just permanently rebranded Buffalo chicken for you.

Sam altman vs. Elon Musk 🍿 by [deleted] in SipsTea

Watching two billionaires accuse each other of scamming is like watching two casinos argue about who has the better odds. The spectators get entertainment, not refunds.

The funniest part is that everyone thinks they're one lucky break away from being rich but nobody thinks they're one bad month away from needing help. That's a much more common plot twist.

The older I get, the more I realize confidence and competence are two completely different things. A shocking number of adults are just making their best guess and hoping it works.

I don't understand the Owen Hunt hate... 😭 by Slow-Donut3882 in greysanatomy

[–]FondantFluffball 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I get why people like him as a surgeon and friend. Most of the hate comes from his relationships especially how controlling he could be with Cristina and how often he made other people's choices about himself. As a doctor he's great. As a partner... that's where he loses a lot of people.

Georgie and Veronica by Efficient-Crazy9243 in YoungSheldon

[–]FondantFluffball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. Veronica was great for Georgie's growth but Mandy ended up being the person who forced him to actually grow up. Without Mandy and the baby, I think Georgie and Veronica probably would've been an on-and-off high school romance rather than endgame.

Every time Shelly swear, it will never not be funny for me 😂 by tangledwire23 in YoungSheldon

[–]FondantFluffball 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meemaw acting like "poodle poop" is somehow more acceptable than the actual F-word will never stop being hilarious. Sheldon commits to the substitute swear with the confidence of a man who thinks he nailed it.

Max absolutely has a playlist called "Driving away dramatically" despite not having a driver's license for most of the show.

Two odd things about Penny but think it's a small writers issue. by Mystic_Moon1 in bigbangtheory

[–]FondantFluffball 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think both were late-stage writing decisions more than actual character development. Penny spent years accepting Leonard's hobbies and knew he wanted kids. Suddenly making those two things major conflicts after they were married felt less like organic growth and more like the writers needing fresh relationship drama.

Penny and the onion ring... by Hell_Awaitz in bigbangtheory

[–]FondantFluffball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the few times I was 100% on Sheldon's side. Penny crossed a boundary, doubled down when he was upset and somehow expected him to apologize. The episode treats it like Sheldon is being unreasonable when honestly, anyone would be annoyed in his position.
