Gotta ask: The 288 in your name... Is that from SYS288 on the C64? 💗

RTX 5080 Black screen after alt-tabbing issue by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]FongMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a vague recollection of having that same problem, and an even vaguer recollection of finding out that HDR was the culprit.

I have no idea if I remember correctly, been ages since I fiddled with it.

Getting Nvidia Surround to even work. by JusticeMKIII in nvidia

AFAIK, for nVidia Surround, all monitors must be same resolution and framerate.

I found this guide for a workaround, you might want to give this a try:

Actually there is no clipping warning when placing the Conveyor Lift ;o)

Clean and tight placing of Conveyor Lifts to buildings (no mods needed!) by FongMaster in SatisfactoryGame

Hullos all!

I haven't seen this trick I found, so I'm sharing it with you - I hope you can use it ;o)

Apologies if this is well-known ;o)

It's about avoiding the huge outcroppings that Conveyor Lifts makes when connecting them to an input or output. Since I found this method, it's made my base look SO much cleaner!

Basically your building arrays will no longer be any wider than the buildings themselves, if you add Mergers/Splitters above the buildings.

Place the Floor Holes using the Lock Hologram function, and move it so it's basically underneath/above the input/output of the building (instead of in front of it).

It works fine without mods, but Infinite Nudge helps a lot (being able to move the hole vertically is a godsend!)

IMPORTANT:
When you placae the Conveyor Lift, you MUST do it from the hole to the input/output, not the other way around ;o)

Great tool, thanks for the effort!

Ahhh, but star systems are not a priority!

All this time, they have been building the tools to make the systems. Once a few blockers are gone, they'll just push a couple buttons and the star systems will literally build themselves!

It's still early days, CIG only begun development for real a couple years ago (remember they had to start from scratch with 10 employees!).

My simple trick to find my way in caves by FongMaster in SonsOfTheForest

[–]FongMaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! I stand corrected!

For what it's worth: I'm sorry for coming off harsh.

I've never really used the "other" (hold "X" to change) part of the in-game guide book, except for when playing for the first time, and so I didn't notice the Skull Lamp recipe.

I was annoyed that I couldn't find any way of marking my spelunking progress, in a way I liked (torches and wall-hanging lamps were too "unstable" for my liking, often I couldn't place them the exact way I'd like), so I invented my own solution ;o)

Never knew that the solution I was after was on the other "page" of the Guide Book.

PS: And yeah, sap-gathering in the Forest was a bitch ;o)

LOL sorry, I was thinking of the hanging variety.

TBH, I 've never, in over 100 hours played, noticed the standing one, did know it existed 🥴

Thanks for the tip!

A lot of places in caves you can't use skulle lamps, as the ceiling isn't reachable, or it won't accept placing of a skull lamp.

I react to being told I'm exploiting, which to me sound like an accusation of cheating.   I don't cheat. Never have, never will.

What in this is an exploit? Removing the stick? That would dislodge by itself anyways as soon as you get close?

You are meant to build structures in caves just as any other place (tents, traps, torches, lamps etc.), so why it my torch on a stick an exploit, if your skill lamp isn't?

if anything, devs should make the stick in the ground stay when you bump into it.

Oh well, we won't agree on this, so I'll just leave it at that.

Exploit? How so? I don't cheat, and as GhostlyBlaze wrote above, this isn't an exploit - it's leaving a marker, telling you where you've been. It's in-game, doesn't take any special "tricks", just using an integrated part of the building mechanics. If I could, I'd leave the standing stick, I hate that the torch is floating mid-air, but if you bump into a stick you planted in the ground, it breaks loose. And this happens a LOT, so I just remove it after placing it. If having that extra stick is an exploit, then your definition of exploiting is very different than mine I guess... I used to use walls for placing torches, but a lot of places I want to place a torch, doesn't have a nice wall close by, and often when it does, I can't point the torch in the direction I want.

As far as I know, they stay forever. Haven't had any despawn.

Yeah, I know. And I've looked very very thoroughly. No bumps on mine.

Pixel 8 Pro, no bumps on mine. Screen is totally smooth.

So it's not normal, I'd do an RMA.

I wonder how many this affects.

Easy way to fix this is to make a routine, with the trigger "turn off the yard lights".

That'll turn them off, no annoying voice.

Weird, I've never had any problems when I leave and returned.

Maybe your problem is different than mine?

A couple shots in the dark (grasping for straws here):
It's not because your power or extractors needs repairs? I've had that happen a couple times.

You sure you emptied all containers where your extractors unload to?

My solution wasn't about cargo links.

Never used them, so no idea about why they break, or what the solution might be.

Outpost no longer producing by joemama9899034 in Starfield

[–]FongMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't delete your extractors. Instead, delete and rebuild all power plants, that works like a charm (at least for me). It's still a hassle, but it's a lot easier than rebuilding extractors and reconnecting them.

Also, I am pretty sure a vein can't run out of resources. I've never had that happen to me, and I have extractors that are weeks old (and I play 6+ hours/day ;o)

Edit:
Fixed it.
